WRX Wagon

Had a classic impreza before, and a TT legacy. But an ageing 3 series and working closer to home meant it was time for a change and I could afford to be a little less sensible.

Ended up with a 2005 WRX Wagon (meant i could justify it to the mrs as kind of sensible :lol1:)

Its pretty clean and tidy, well looked after and decent spec inside. Its christening was a trip into north wales in miserable weather filled with kids, partner and a cat and it was great. Few little jobs to be done, then look at future plans. Long term mainly as a fun tourer.

Lovely wagon dude, I'd class the wagon as reasonably sensible but with the added benefit of having a bit of power to enjoy when the mood takes.

My missus loves our one, it's now her daily.

Looks good! I managed to convince SWMBO that a WRX wagon was sensible too :-)

Is it all as original, or has it had any mods done? A couple of good threads if you are thinking of tinkering:

P.S. That last pic makes it look like you are driving through the lake!

Always good to see another wagon! Looks like a good standard example. Have you got any plans?

While we're talking about really good threads I think this is a good one:

Love my wagon had some mods too, such a useful car good choice mate

Cheers for the links, will do some reading.

Its got an aftermarket exhaust and filter (think i'll be changing that back to the standard airbox with a decent panel)

The brakes squeak from time to time and the rears are worse for wear, so i'll stick a full set of something new on and give the callipers a once over.

Other than that when i get time a decent once over and replace any wear items. A remap and refurb the alloys to a slightly darker grey/silver.

Cool shots. I've always had a soft spot for the wagon. Less around makes it more desirable for me.
I have recently fitted the godspeed full brake package for 300 quid delivered. Fantastic value, and a step up from oem. Something to consider.

Like the Godspeed upgrade where was that from?..

Another tidy WRX Wagon, any upgrade plans for it?

For the time being i just want to give it a good going over, get rid of a couple of rattles and worn parts. But will be as time permits.

Last couple of days i had noticed the temp creeping up to mid point at long junctions from its normal position about a 1/3 up. Today i was at a junction and noticed a little smoke/steam coming from the bonnet. pulled off checked it, coolant dripping onto the exhaust, nothing to bad finished my journey. Looked again and noticed the top rad hose looked like it had moved, the drip was from there and running down the block. Once cool, repositioned it and tightened it, topped up the coolant and bled it. Problem solved, an m6 traffic jam and a 110mile trip to north wales proved it.

I swung by TDR in warwick as i didn't have much faith in the hose and wanted a spare, never been before google just pointed them out as local. Friendly guys who had a car park full of cars waiting and interesting stuff in the workshop. Wanted to buy a hose, got given one for free!
