Early 2000's, those where the days. when a Impreza would turn heads and if you was running 400bhp you was a god!!!

salsa-king 03 February 2016 07:16 AM

yeah.. you mean no £1500 sheds

Rusti 03 February 2016 09:21 AM

I am sure a lot has changed on this forum, and not necessarily for the better.

S3LDM 03 February 2016 12:16 PM

It is indeed a long time

Couple of years behind you Salsa-King and things have certainly changed a lot

Alec 03 February 2016 01:08 PM

Bloody children.

ALi-B 03 February 2016 01:22 PM

I've stopped counting since I turned 30 :o

kingofturds 03 February 2016 05:46 PM

All you need is PS Lewis now and this thread would be like a geriatric home :D

lordharding 03 February 2016 07:14 PM

I'm nearly. Up to 16 years also in June when I got my Greenwagon

I'm going for the longest owned car since new title
Think I was forth three years ago

Trouble is the Subaru enthusuists lost faith when all the 09 + engines went pop and people are still nervouse of the new impreza
A shame as its a great looking car and price isn't any more when you take inflation into account

TonyBurns 03 February 2016 08:50 PM

Dont worry Salsa, a few of us are pushing the 16 years on here now ;)

LH, yes, the 2.5ltr just killed confidence in Subaru, hence I went for the 2ltr twin scroll unit which is far superior and still being used in Japan (shall we mention the FA engine or not?)
Hopefully we may get the new WRX with the FA engine, just as much power as the 2.5 STI and more torque, the only thing that leaves you wondering why its not in an STI in Japan and why are they still running the EJ207.... hmmm.

On an off note, anyone tried the 1.6ltr turbo out?

scooby-k 03 February 2016 10:15 PM

couple of years behind. I recon I must have the lowest thread post

TedEd may be lower than you ;)

Shaun 04 February 2016 12:46 PM

Forget Subaru now..... they're a spent force. ;)

German is the future! :D

Norman Dog 04 February 2016 07:08 PM

Perhaps

scoobygreg 05 February 2016 03:54 PM

Only eight for me. ,I've have had fourteen Subaru's though does that count

Flat4x4-again 05 February 2016 04:35 PM

15 for me across 2 user-names. Delighted I've got another Classic Subaru. Sometimes you need time to pass before you know what you've been missing. Like life in general ?!

RAGGY DOO 05 February 2016 10:23 PM

nice one lads

DaveD 05 February 2016 10:45 PM

Must admit that I rarely frequent here these days...my Scoob has been sat on the drive for 2 years, but should be resurrected soon.

I fondly remember the Derby / Notts crew and the various meets and runs that we used to do back in the day....I think I still have a lot of those pictures on 35mm film! :)

Been on SNET since getting my STi3 wagon in Aug 1999, had a couple of accounts in that time.
Cars been garaged since 2006, 55k miles, might be on the road this summer.
Still got the broquets fitted 😎

gpssti4 07 February 2016 02:29 AM

It's not like the good ol' days anymore sadly.

AndyC_772 07 February 2016 12:20 PM

I still pop by from time to time to see if there are any interesting stories, but that's about it. After four Imprezas I'd had enough of the cost and hassle... now I'm happier with a nice, comfy BMW and a motorbike.

I do miss the shows, and the community that used to exist, but changing my car isn't going to bring those back :(

alistair 08 February 2016 09:38 PM

It was all going down hill by 2000 - that's when the chavs started joining ;) :thumb:

salsa-king 08 February 2016 11:00 PM

not with £1500 shed though lol

jaygsi 08 February 2016 11:34 PM

No Impreza's where i live, so every time i'm out get good comments, but my mate is trying to get one so that all might change :thumb:

Hol 09 February 2016 09:27 AM

It has come around quick.

I remember when having an Impreza was admired and you were considered as a true petrolhead.

Kids would stop and stare and people would stop and ask questions.

Then came Lexus rear lights and the neon brigade.

I also went German two years back as Audi were the only other people to offer 300+ bhp and AWD. (Without risk).
