Sigma alarm issue
Can some one please help me .... My car has been stuck on my drive for about 8 weeks now as the sigma fob got wet and won't work I have no idea what the pin is (didn't even know it hand the keypad for ages). I contacted my local subaru garage several times only to leave a message and nobody call me back :nono:. I called in eventualy and seemed to get somewhere but he never called me back so I went again. The second visit I was asked for a pic of the alarm unit from behind the dash so I sent this to them then booked an appointment for them to come out but they canceled last minuet. So today I rush back from London 145 miles away from home to wait for them and again and they cancel. It's safe to say I'm distraught I have no idea what to do. My car is a 03 impreza sti and any info would be appreciated.

Can you not dry the remote out (silica gel, uncooked rice etc) replace the battery and see if it works ??

Forget Subaru get your local alarm installer onto the problem, even if they just install a new alarm for you.
I assume you have checked all round the dash in case the pin sticker is stuck on somewhere as some dealers do. |

You need a working remote or the pin. Otherwise you can't do anything.
I would get a new install with the old one ripped out. Any professional installer can do that. However, Subaru should have a record of the pin unless someone changed it. You need to show them your logbook to get it. |

should work you would need the control box fob and codes plug n play with all your wiring sensors etc, just a question have you tried to start it with the drivers door open as mine will start sometimes without pressing the fob so long as the drivers door is open :thumb:

Can't you just buy another fob and program it to the car . . . ?

Yes the immobiliser is a seperate thing but i think that it is the immobiliser that is stopping the car from starting unless it is some wiring maybe that has been disturbed so to prove the immobiliser is working you need to hear the fuel pump running when you turn the ignition on.

Thanks. |
So I got my second hand unit today with a matching fob, pluggeged it all in and done ... Happy days. So finally after what feels like an eternity of having it off the road while I get some jobs done and then having it sit there all ready to go with this fault for ages it's sorted. Cheers for the bits of input :).

dont forget to pair your old fobs to the new alarm, so you have plenty of spares.

Well I think the whole problem was with the old fobs and the fact they where broken but I shall look into getting spares as I don't want to be in this situation again :nono:
Dont forget to sort the PIN code. |
Easy enough to change your PIN code for the keypad once you can arm/disarm the alarm system :
Arm and then Disarm the system using a working Radio Key. - Within 30 seconds of disarming, type into the keypad: *17856*92*wxyz*wxyz# (where wxyz is your new PIN code) - Arm the system with the Radio Key - You should now be able to disarm the system using the new PIN code Mick |
