Subaru Impreza (all models) ABS Delete Kits.
 

Full abs delete kits available for all makes and models.

These kits replace all the standard hard lines throughout the car, from the master cylinder to the wheel arches (calliper lines available seperately) replacing them for high performance Teflon lined stainless steel braided hoses in a wide range of colours, removing the factory abs units which isnt up to much and has been known to be extremely dangerous.

Kit will include:

Line from BMC to front tee piece
2x lines from front tee piece to inner wings
Line from BMC to rear tee piece
2x Lines from rear tee piece to inner wings
2x Tee pieces
20x Nylon P clips
20x Self tapping screws
2x New banjo bolts
4x Copper washers

Half kit also available, which is consists of:

Line from BMC to front tee piece
2x lines from front tee piece to inner wings
Line from BMC to a tee piece to connect existing hard lines to.

Would this kit be suitable for a public road used car.

Yes indeed, we have supplied many kits to road going cars with great affect.

So would the car pass an MOT with the kit fitted as the car came with ABS so now it is not standard and how would insurance be affected.

It doesn't come with any instructions but a member on here(piehole) was very helpful :thumb:

He also sent me this link regarding MOT so all seems good if done correctly,not sure on insurance but if its ok for MOT then i can't see a problem.

Hey there could you please educate uneducated regarding this kit.

I assume this is for race/track application? I just dont understand how this would benefit me taking my ABS off... I was under impression that ABS was a safety feature...

From what i feel on hard(and sometimes not so hard) braking then the subaru ABS system if far from safe,i do have a non standard brake set up tho so can only tell you how it feels on my car,6 pot fronts,brembo 2 pot rears,and i wanted the kit so i could brake hard with confidence.

Yes as long as it is removed correctly then will pass an mot no problem.

The reasoning behind the delete kits is that the abs units on subarus, in fact most japanese cars is horrendous, very dangerous and causes more accidents than saved ones. With the kits fitted it gives a true and positive feel to the brakes putting you the driver in control, not a unit that should have undergone a bit more of a thorough check before leaving the factory.

It is more of a race/track application as abs (especially bad abs) isnt good for hard breaking on track, although seems many are using on the road cars to rid the problems also.

Edit: doesn't matter tbh,piehole who is pretty switched on when it comes to this kind of thing has helped me out.
It was the ends that fit to the bmc I couldn't get my head around but it seem you have put different ends on to the oem brake lines and put banjo ends on instead.

Yes the oem fittings are replaced in the kits with banjos, only real reason is for neatness, i can make them however you wish though, i have made kits on request using 90degree fittings, twin entry banjos, double banjo and bolt (eliminating the tee pieces) etc etc. Doesnt effect performance at all, just personal preference :)

If an ABS or ESC system has been intentionally rendered inoperative, the whole system must be removed. However, this does not apply to sensor rings or other ABS components which are an integral part of another component e.g. brake disc or drive shaft.

Ok but taking a safety system off a car does seem out of order to me and maybe also the insurance people might not like it.

If you think the Impreza has a 'safe' abs system then fair enough,keep it on there.
I don't think it's safe so it's going in the bin :thumb:

If it's totally road legal to do so as stated in the UK MOT manual then why would the insurance company not like it?
Personally I think my 6 pots will be more than safe enough and imo the oem brakes would work better without the Subaru's attempt at an ABS system.

Im not been stupid but can the cars stock bias valve still be used with this kit?

Hi Phil, pretty sure its only the non abs cars that have a factory bias valve as its the abs module that does the biasing.

But yes, a stock non abs bias valve can be used as long as we are aware upon making your order.

Bare in mind its not adjustable though.
