Prosport in manchester has change hands

It is a Jaguar and Landrover service centre now :( ,

powerwrx 19 January 2016 07:56 PM

they have been away from Subaru for a while now, been more vw/audi for some time

wrx300scooby 19 January 2016 08:02 PM

If only they could have seen what was happening at sc they might have stuck to Subarus.

bighead 19 January 2016 08:20 PM

I know that they were going the VW/Audi route , but they still sevice/maintain their loyal customer's cars (me been one ), Had a call today from Peter(owner ) to pick my P1 up.....He has sold the garage due to ill health ...shame really as he built that successful business up from scratch for a long time !

I for one will miss them :(

wrx300scooby 19 January 2016 08:36 PM

It is a shame, what a pity he didn't have someone in the family to pass on his years of experience and skills. End of an era almost by the sound of it:(

bighead 19 January 2016 11:14 PM

Yes, now I don't know where to Take my car for servicing ....maybe RCM

mike74 20 January 2016 08:12 AM

Autotecnica in Buxton aren't exactly a million miles away from Manchester and come with a great reputation which I can fully endorse from when I've used them in the past. If I end up living back in Mcr and back in an impreza I'll certainly be using them again.

rs4adam 20 January 2016 08:15 PM

Another big up for Auto technica, used them for an rb5 last year, quite a few bits missing from an engine rebuild gone wrong, anyway they sorted it, had a fair few spares in stock (they also break cars) so ended up being a very reasonably priced repair with no nonsense and bull along the way

Good bunch of lads and worth a try if you arent to far away

rs4adam 20 January 2016 08:16 PM

And a shame about pro sport they had a great setup there with some fantastic equipment, hopefully someone can fill the void asap

Went to pro sport for my last service Pete seemed a top chap aswell and very helpful

Any recommendations for other specialists in the north west a bit stumped now? :brickwall

mickp 21 January 2016 06:47 AM

Only place I ever trusted with my Subaru. Always a no nonsense approach from Pete. Get well soon pal if you are not too good.

johno01 21 January 2016 03:19 PM

i recommend you try adgespeed in irlam,manchester....infact i cant recommend him enough...great prices and his workmanship is second to none...ive been to prosport twice..i found him moody and very overpriced.

Another recommendation for Adgespeed here. Used to use Prosport years ago and was always really happy with their work but stopped after a bad experience and started using Adgespeed instead.

Hope Pete gets well soon.

There's also CAMS Performance in Blackburn and Steve Cotton at Cotton Comp, both popular in the Northwest.

Agree with both, these two companies are very good, also a good one in buxton that I was recommended to use by a guy from work. Don't take it to adgespeed heard they are breakers and don't know much abouts subarus technically.my mate has used him for a few things over the years and said he doesn't have a clue and charges for things that are not needed and that it's a part time garage that's hardly open

_Meridian_ 08 May 2016 08:33 AM

This certainly explains why I couldn't get Prosport on the phone...

I did speak to Adgespeed on the phone, but wasn't impressed. And apparently they need to shut for ten days because the boss is on holiday. Autotechnica sound next closest. All this is a bit complicated just to get an oil change and a (friendly) MoT. Any other recommendations for MoT garages near Manchester with a realistic attitude to emissions?

The joys of hearing off 'a mate', this has gotta be one of the best quotes I've heard for a while, Adge has been in the Subaru scene as long as I can remember, The fact he rally's them and owns a WRC car amongst other special cars means he mustn't know $hit about them :lol1:

He's a top bloke and I'd have no problem taking my car to him

ice643 08 May 2016 01:05 PM

Adge is a top bloke, used him for parts.
