Uk2000 prodrive

Hi i have one question
I have a classic 99 uk 2000 with a prodrive ecu
It's good idea fit a decat downpipe and some boost controller to be safe ?.
Any opinion?.
Thanks a lot

Do you have a sports cat and y pipe?

I have the stock downpipe
Center non resonated
Silicone y pipe

That's the full PPP. I'd leave it as it is. I wouldn't run a decat downpipe without a remap.

I thought the full PPP had a performance filter aswell.

It's not listed in the Prodrive MY99 catalogue, but I fitted one anyway, along with a 255 Walboro fuel pump.

i ran a sportcat on my old 1999 UK classic with a PPP with no issue whatsoever. worst case scenario you will get a bit of overboost and then its just a case of enlarging the pill hole diameter ever so slightly. mine didnt.

I'm running an sti intercooler, prodrive y pipe. Sports cat and subaru r air filter.

But any advantatge of sti interccoler?? They looks very similar to standard

jaygsi 20 October 2015 05:06 PM

Yes mate they give better cold air flow, bigger intercooler is always better.

Yes ok
But the prodrive ecu it's adjusted tp run with the standard intercooler,,, so i don't urdensteand
You say a v5 sti intercooler i supose

I'm upgrading my ecu soon, hence why I'm upgrading intercooler, I've not fitted it yet but will do in next few weeks. But in your case with having the prodrive ecu I'd leave as standard with correct y pipe.

In spain it's impossible find any mapper with ecutek software
Thanks a lot

you dont need it mapped for top mount intercooler upgrade. i ran a newage WRX intercooler without any issue

jaygsi 21 October 2015 11:38 PM

But to get the best out of it you do.

you really dont. what gains are you expecting to see between a Classic wrx IC and a newage WRX (or STI) IC? all its doing is cooling air slightly better - and when you consider the variation of air temp throughout the year - the ECU can adapt to it

ossett2k2 22 October 2015 02:18 PM

I would imagine any drop in charge temps is going to help so I'd say it's a good upgrade if mapped, will allow for a touch more timing and to lean it out a little in the high load range, probably :)
