scoobyworx fuel pump
 

anyone using a scoobyworx fuel pump that was for sale after the bad batch darrell had? (not the collossus one) i sent a pic to darrell and he said mine was not from the bad batch but im getting nervous as ive got a date with andy f on the 5th oct and am having the pump fitted on sat before i head to andys. this is not a scoobyworx bashing thread at all i just want experiences from anyone using the type after the bad batch and as i said i was in touch with darrell regarding the pump. reason beng im running out of time to order a walbro from somewhere if the pumps are not reliable. any info would be great if your running one, cheers.

If it's not from the bad batch then you have nothing to worry about. Nothing more than any other component that may fail.

Unless Walbro have a 100% reliability record on every pump they have ever sold?

Can pick up another cheap second hand pump if you are still concerned.

I run a 340 swrd fuel pump supplied and fitted by darrell. No problems at all running at 330bhp. Had alot of work done at scoobyworx, big thumbs up for the work carried out.:thumb:

Thanks for the reply bud. The pump you are referring to is the colossus I think. Im on about the 255 lph one. As I said im not bashing darrell in the slightest and I have bought from him before but this was a known quality issue with a batch of pumps which dont seem to be sold on the website now as he has moved on to the colossus pumps. I just hoped to hear from someone using a 255 pump after the bad batch to get an idea if the next lot were ok. I bought it over a year ago you see and its sat in the box unused until now. Guess I,ll just go with it and see how it goes.

With hindsight, you should have fitted it a while ago, then you'd know whether it was faulty and could have replaced it.

Plenty of secondhand Walbros about if you want complete peace of mind.

Mine wasn't part of the bad batch, it had SWRD printed on it.
It worked perfectly fine for over half a year before it failed.
Not sure what caused it to bite the dust but if you have any problems it has a two year warranty.

Could fit it before mapping. Only takes a hour to fit yourself!

thanks for that bud. did you get a colossus to replace it? at least i know it might last half a year! just getting jittery about it as the day gets closer. a garage i use wasnt keen on fitting it as they dealt with a few that failed i believe. fingers crossed lol.

yeah i did m8 thanks. wish he just offered to replace mine as well. i did pm him a pic of the pump and he said it wasnt one of them as he knows what the bad ones looked like. will just have to fit it and see.

Yeah shouldn't be any problems. Hope the mapping goes well..:thumb:

fit the pump yourself - you'd only need a basic toolkit and it will take you 30-45 minutes depending on length of smoke and tea breaks :) Leave the car over night and do first thing in the morning so you don't have to worry about bleeding off the pressure so much.
