Newage wagon owners - Winglet/V-Ltd splitter help

I know this has been covered a few times but I'm struggling to find a definitive answer.

I want to fit STI winglets and a V Ltd splitter to my WRX wagon. I watched a great youtube video that shows how to fit them which required some chopping up of the winglet, does this really need to be done?

Also once fitted the splitter didn't seem to meet the wheel arches and imo looked rubbish. Is this the case on all wagons?

Any help, photos, links to topics that may help would be great :)

Well it depends on the bumper. Ultimately...genuine winglets and v-ltd splitters are meant to go on saloon bumpers, which are wider than wagons. Not by much, but they are wider as saloons obviously have wider wings. So you can get winglets to go onto a wagon bumper, but the splitter would have to be modified to suit a slimmer wagon bumper.

Most cars you see that have those splitters and winglets on, have had a saloon front end conversion - so the wider wings etc too.

Ah ok, interesting as I'd not come across any threads about the bumper differences. I think I'll go ahead and fit the winglets and then see what changes may need to be made for the splitter, thanks for the info.
