Lateral MDX321T fitting
Got myself a 321T second hand off here knowing I would have to do some light surgery to the engine to clearance for the turbo.
However I didn't realise just how much of the block would need to be ground away! To get the turbo to fit I am going to have to remove approximately 1 cubic inch of material from where one of the engine bolts go into the engine. This doesn't seem quite right to me, anybody got any input or experiences? Thanks Ian. |
Is it not the gearbox you need to attack
|
Possible the gearbox too, I've not got that far yet as the engine is out the vehicle at the minute.
|
I had to shorten the threaded bit on block where one of gearbox bolts go to fit md321, didn't take long. All those with cdb cant use all the post 98 fittings anyway so can't see it making much difference.
|
Yep that's the part I'm having to address. Glad it's not just me then cheers.

Gearbox, not engine as far as I know.

i have, hence my earlier reply |
Engine block only, remove most of the threaded boss, some require more than others.

Thanks for the replies guys, it's deffo the engine and not the bellhousing as some would call it.
Almost wish I had gone for an SC turbo instead as they are direct fit. |
Its a 2 minute job mate and worth the effort as they are great turbo's. I can send u pics of mine if any use to see how much i cut off.
