Guys,

Just seeing if anyone knows if the v2 wrx exhaust headers would be the same as the v2 sti headers.

I wish Si, no for the moment i'm just replacing due to perishing brackets and so on. Want to get it done before the trip to germany

Silver Scooby Sport 26 April 2015 11:02 PM

If you need to swap them now is the time Matt that's for sure.

What condition are they in Buddy ?do they still have the heat shields ?

You can be my nurburg parts supplier lol still have to square for last year

*matthewturb2000* 27 April 2015 06:58 PM

You could heat wrap your headers with the broken heat shiel, I done mine after cutting of the many heat shield, just a thought

Silver Scooby Sport 27 April 2015 08:02 PM

I cut all mine off and wrapped them Matt.
What a reminder picture ?

I looked at wrapping mine but they look a bugger to do as its not completely round. May save the replacing and just changing the gaskets instead.

Have you got pictures of yours Si ?

Yes I'd lost it by this point :D

Nothing to major Matt it's just wrapping the buggers that's the hard part as you want 3 arms !

Silver Scooby Sport 27 April 2015 09:09 PM

When I think of it I actually had Frayz's headers off his bugeye ported wrapped and fitted on my blue classic... A lot of this stuff is the same across the years.

matscooby 27 April 2015 09:34 PM

Cheers Si, how many reels of wrap did you use ? I still have one full reel remaining from the kitcar but it looks i may need afew more.

Also, notice you grinded down some bits on the heards

Silver Scooby Sport 27 April 2015 10:13 PM

I'm sure it was just the one roll I used Matt and it was only just enough, I may have been a little keen to start I will admite :freak3: :D

I cut the outer away and used a grinder on the lugs to smooth them back, they are just the heat sheiled mounting points, then I used my gadget ;) to port them.... I did not find it a bad job it was just the wrapping that I found a pain. I'll go through it when your replacement arrives if you like.

DYL 4N 28 April 2015 11:26 AM

As above really Matt. I wouldn't bother trying to salvage the oem shields. They will by now be seized and rotten around the bolts.

Best option is to wrap.

I have stainless steel tubular headers off a V2 sat in the garage if you want to have a look.
I am near Bridgend
