Default V2 exhaust headers

Guys,

Just seeing if anyone knows if the v2 wrx exhaust headers would be the same as the v2 sti headers.

I wish Si, no for the moment i'm just replacing due to perishing brackets and so on. Want to get it done before the trip to germany

What condition are they in Buddy ?do they still have the heat shields ?

You can be my nurburg parts supplier lol still have to square for last year

You could heat wrap your headers with the broken heat shiel, I done mine after cutting of the many heat shield, just a thought

I looked at wrapping mine but they look a bugger to do as its not completely round. May save the replacing and just changing the gaskets instead.

Have you got pictures of yours Si ?

Nothing to major Matt it's just wrapping the buggers that's the hard part as you want 3 arms !

When I think of it I actually had Frayz's headers off his bugeye ported wrapped and fitted on my blue classic... A lot of this stuff is the same across the years.

Cheers Si, how many reels of wrap did you use ? I still have one full reel remaining from the kitcar but it looks i may need afew more.

Also, notice you grinded down some bits on the heards

I'm sure it was just the one roll I used Matt and it was only just enough, I may have been a little keen to start I will admite

I cut the outer away and used a grinder on the lugs to smooth them back, they are just the heat sheiled mounting points, then I used my gadget to port them.... I did not find it a bad job it was just the wrapping that I found a pain. I'll go through it when your replacement arrives if you like.

As above really Matt. I wouldn't bother trying to salvage the oem shields. They will by now be seized and rotten around the bolts.

Best option is to wrap.

I have stainless steel tubular headers off a V2 sat in the garage if you want to have a look.
