Apple products twice as buggy as Windows last year...

Interesting article in the Register on how many bugs found in each OS last year, Apples are around 130 whilst Windows is half that.

One of the reasons why I left Apple

LOL. Now add up the results for all versions of Windows. Clickbait at best.

You left OS X because Windows was more secure, LOL.

We've known this for years, but the iFantards insist that they're not bugs but features. :lol1:

Also worth noting that Safari isn't on the list of apps that will get you in trouble.

Well that's stupid if you do, what does that prove, you can't run all versions of Windows on one PC all at the same time!

How many os does the average bod employ at any one time ?!

But you can run all versions of OS X? Seems fair.

You've not heard of VM's then? :p

Surely there is only one version of OSX as everyone is on the same version, as you keep telling us, everyone updates because there's no reason not to and it's so seamless and not fragmented like Windows.

Yes, but it not like suddenly the host PC will have 240 or vulnerabilities, each VM of each OS will still have 30 or so each! :thumb:

A few problems with that, Jack. Most of the Windows issues will be cross release, so 36 for Windows 8 and 36 for WIndows 8.1 are probaly just 36. Even for the others, there will be few truly independent ones, hence the reason why there is a very small spread across all Windows one.

Even if you discount that, you are happy that MAC OSx and iOS have gone from your utopia of the most secure to having that many vunerabilities? Come on, the quality is slipping, possibly as they have become very popular, the quality control is starting to slip as Apple try to keep updates coming, and hackers are finally starting to show just how un-secure it always was and people are reporting them.

JackClark 27 February 2015 10:16 PM

That's fine, we can just use major releases. Windows 8 vs Mavericks would be a good start.

Apple released a good statement, worth a read.

 now there's a mental image, somebody sat at a computer running every conceivable version of windows simultaneously. Questions is how long till the machine falls over as they cascade blue screen?

Run your VM on a Mac and at least that will still be standing.

jonc 28 February 2015 12:22 PM

I think you'll find running VMs on Windows is pretty stable and robust too. There're plenty of Windows Servers hosting Hyper-V in small, medium and large enterprise environments.
