does a new exhaust get louder?

It will change tone as the carbon builds up. Should get a bit deeper/bassier. Don't think it will increase in volume as such.

I think mine changes tone when it's warmed up. Blitz Nur Spec

Yes it will get louder, as has been said carbon build up. Plus exhausts do need bedding in.

Don't worry I've had loads of new systems, first one I had was full jap style system, sounded quiter than original exhaust, took bout a month and got louder and louder until, got complaints, so changed it ;-)

Mine was quite raspy at first and now very deep sounding.

my vortex was second hand but in very good nick when I got it. Quite raspy and insanely loud, once it got a few heat cycles and and some miles put on it's settled down a bit.

It's still got decent volume but it doesn't have the tinny edge to it.

Guessing you wanted it louder?
