Uprated oil pressure switch
 

With Bry's recent unfortunate events, has anyone ever fitted an uprated oil pressure switch? There are many around, but wondered if anyone has sourced a quality replacement....

The standards are set ridiculously low (7-8 psi), however one set to 15-20 psi could save the day..

A number of reasons have been given for bry unfortunate incident. But being mapped, any previously poor quality work or even the wrong oil could have caused the issues. I think to just blame the oil pressure switch would be churlish.

It could also be that it was time for the block to go anyway, so no matter what was done before hand the 2.5 malaise was going to come, it was a RCM rebuild previously and quality parts where used.

Personally, now on Scoob number 8 and only ever having one engine go (at JDM block with 100K plus miles) and no other issues I would agree an uprated switch may help but it's like a boy with his finger in the dyke.

And not that type of dyke either :D

not suggesting that the switch was the culprit, just a higher rated replacement switch could help avoid major catastrophes and at the tenth of the price of Defi's.

That's how I knew I had low oil pressure as my defi oil pressure alarm was dinging and flashing red lol
