Orly... did you do a factory reset? which carrier are you with? So the picture gallery is nice and slick is it? do you use the facebook app, how long does it take to open? Do your texts send immediately? hows your battery life?

Probably using a custom rom ;)

Hook, line and sinker. :lol1:

I do know of a couple of S5 owners that have had to do a factory reset after installing Lollipop due to the update causing major problems, after the reset and reinstalling the OS everything was fine and the S5 ran like a dream. :thumb:

Lucky ;) although fb and messenger have always been battery hogs, i know they don't help. My picture gallery is also nice n slick all of a sudden after a few core apps were updated recently.

How are you quantifying decent? Mine is good for 1-2days with medium use or 1 day with heavy use, which is over 2hrs of screentime.

5.0.1 runs lovely on my ageing Nexus 4. No major issues. I had some random battery drains, but pretty sure they were caused by an app as it's stopped now. Battery life is just as bad as it was on KitKat. I use Nova Launcher Prime.

Runs nicely on my LG GPad 8.3 as well, but that's CM12.

Probably around that if not slightly more, can last quite a few days if i just leave it on the side with the wifi off ;)

Julie removed the facebook app from her S5 yesterday and has since seen an improvement in the battery life following the upgrade ...

yea 5.0.1 loads of bug fixes already in that, only nexus users have it, the rest of us plebs on other flagship devices have to wait  but anyway its supposed to dramatically improve battery life, that was its main "selling" point.

I have lollipop on my S5 and I haven't had any problems with it other than a couple of apps not being installed. I use nova launcher and the phone just seems the same.

My battery life has never been great but I think it's just reduced with age rather than being caused by OS updates. I'll get a day's use out of it with low activity and less when active - pretty typical of most smartphones. I blame FB for most of the battery use, especially with their annoying autoplay videos. Push and Pull Notifications will always be a burden on battery life too. My Nexus 4 will be 3 years old this year and it's still a stunning device. Can't stand the modded Samsung Android - vanilla all the way for me. I went CM12 on my LG GPad 8.3 since LG's Android is bloated and crippled too.

I've developed my own app for a forum I run which looks great (if I say so myself) with the material design. We use iPads at work (switching to Windows soon) and I wouldn't want an iPhone/iPad now - love the flexibility of Android.

OH uses a Moto G which is superb for the money, looks to getting Lollipop imminently, will see how it handles it.

Facebook

Facebook takes huge amount of resources. I use greenify to hibernate the apps I dont use often. I also use x privacy and block all apps to sensitive data.

Yep agreed, you can turn the vid autoplay off btw in the fb app settings.
