Classic Wagon - Folding mirror/s
I've recently purchased a 1996 classic wagon, WRX STi
When I press the appropriate switch the O/S mirrors folds in but not the N/S. Is this by design (i.e. you're meant to pull in on the left to park) or do I simply have one mirror that doesn't work? Lol Ta, Mike |
Probably not working.
I put folding mirrors on my UK car, which didn't have them, (Thanks Subaru/FHI) and they both fold. |
Hmmm.... :\
Thanks for the insight |
Remove both, plug the non working one into the working side.
If it now goes, it's the wiring. If it doesn't, it's the mirror itself. |

Or take drivers side off and connect to a 12v car battery or power supply test it on there, done it loads of times

That assumes you know which wires to connect live and earth to?
IIRC, there were six wires, each PAIR needed a + and a - and the mirror would then either dip, go up, or fold. Reversing - for + etc made it go the other way. But the fold pair would do NOTHING if + and - were applied such as to open WHEN IT WAS ALREADY OPEN. So you need to know which is the fold pair and apply + -, then - +. |
