Ebay, paid about 12 quid.

Came in STi box with STi paper work, could be fake i guess, but seems spot on.

I bought it off Ty (Canon Fodder). Genuine ones are pretty dear but as above Fleabay has some fake ones cheap.

True. They're about £80 for genuine ones on Ebay. It's not bad at £45 Joe for a genuine one. :thumb:

Would be interested to know the difference on the cheap ones, I've bought two of them and they are very good to be fair.

I guess it's made of a cheaper material.

edsel 29 January 2015 03:30 PM

Is this a duracon?

There appears to be two different styles. I'm thinking about swapping for a leather sti knob

The difference between the real and fake duacon gear knobs are that:

Fakes ones - £12 jobbies from eBay are very 'plasticy' and in general not great quality.

The real ones, 'I bought mine from Japan for around £70 delivered'

They feel great, they actually look and feel like they could be made from glass! Plus with the product, duracon, it doesn't get too hot in summer or too cold in winter.

I think you mean fake, is it fake because it's different to yours?

The genuine item signed by toshi arai himself

:D

scoobaholic 16 April 2016 10:50 PM

Soo, how do you find the sti duracon one compared to stock? Good weight? It looks taller..is the reverse lockout still comfortable to reach?

ZANY 17 April 2016 07:28 AM

Actually feels bit smaller reverse is exactly same and an aggressive tight feel to it hard to explain the genuine one feels good to I had a brand new one on before :lol1:

scoobaholic 17 April 2016 11:37 AM

Lol, we're on a forum discussing gear knobs!! Thanks for the info tho! Mine rattles so I want to replace it or fix it up. Think I'd like the Duracon just not sure it goes with the stock 05 interior that well..

ZANY 17 April 2016 12:31 PM

To be honest if it wasn't a rare item I'd stick to the genuine one instead looks just as good
