Mapping

Hi all I'm currently in the middle of building a classic turbo 2000 and need to put a new engine in it but just confused if I put standard turbo etc. in and build it standard do I need to remap it or is it only if I modify? Thank you

Raptorman 28 January 2015 10:20 PM

The classics can't be mapped like the newage cars as they are
not obd2, to map they need something like esl daughter board if
I am correct.

Someone with better info should be along soon enough.

scoobyland 28 January 2015 10:21 PM

So do you keep AA road atlas in the car?

Dan wrx 28 January 2015 10:22 PM

Turbo 2000,1999-00 can be mapped ecutek

I would suggest everyone ignore 'scoobyland' as he is attempting
to troll and doing it badly.

At the minute it's waiting to have a engine put in. Was just curious as seen mixed things online.

bludgod 28 January 2015 11:08 PM

if your up to a bit of wiring you can run it with a 16bit ECU and a custom opensource map ;)

scoobyland 28 January 2015 11:10 PM

Can you wire in a scooobynet mug?

scoobyland 28 January 2015 11:13 PM

About a opensource map? Just because I've never heard of it

scoobyland 28 January 2015 11:48 PM

Ordinance survey map?

ryhs is a mugg

Raptorman 28 January 2015 11:52 PM

Rhys, if you want to you can go to your user cp near top left
and there is a ignore list in there. Just put his name in click 'okay' and his
posts on your threads will be wiped/blank.

It will make your thread a little easier to follow as this idiot is clogging
it up somewhat.

scoobyland 28 January 2015 11:53 PM

LOL

bludgod 28 January 2015 11:54 PM

opensource mapping is a way of uploading custom settings to the standard ECU - but it only works on the newer cars 2001/bugeye upwards. You can then change timing/boost/fuel maps to suit your needs but there would be quite a bit of work involved in doing it.

If your new to it all then it might be easier to get a 99/2000 ECU/engine setup and get an ECUtek tuner to map it for you.
