Bolt on Precision Turbo Upgrades

PRECISION TURBO AND ENGINE has released its new Subaru factory upgrade performance turbocharger. Designed to be an easy bolt-on install for 2002+ Subaru WRX and 2004+ Subaru WRX STi vehicles, Precision’s new Subaru factory upgrade turbocharger also fits the 2004-2007 Subaru Forester.

Featuring Precision’s most advanced and innovative technology, the new turbocharger (part number 10520301726) utilizes a 55mm Competition Engineered Aerodynamics (CEA®) CNC-machined, 2618-forged aluminum compressor wheel specifically designed for maximum performance and less turbo lag.

All units will be equipped with Precision’s high-performance liquid-cooled, dual ceramic ball bearing Centre Housing Rotating Assembly (CHRA) for faster transient response and added thrust capacity.

Capable of supporting over 525 horsepower, the new Subaru factory upgrade turbo retails for just £1499 and comes standard with a stainless steel turbine housing which bolts directly onto the stock factory exhaust manifold.

We can also supply the full range of Precision Turbos at unbeatable prices.

Interested to see dyno results for this on a 2.5, how does it compare to a Sc46 billet?

Theres lots of good results over in the USA.
We would be willing to do a very good deal for someone willing to help us with testing as we dont currently have an Impreza in house. (Although we would very much like one :D)

id like to see result on a wrx sti 2004 type uk.
ive been looking at sc42 but this would interest me.
currently only mods are remap and haywood scott full 3" system running 340bhp 330 torque.

after 400bhp with supporting mods of air filter, injector flowing and fmic.

So why would you fit a turbo that will do 500hp if uyou are looking for 400? More lag for less power, surely a billet sc42 etc would be the way to go for your aim

mje_wrx 11 January 2015 12:36 PM

Because it could Potentially work well and allow me to push more if I ever wanted.

They also do other turbos if you took time to look at catalogue so they could advise me on what they have which may more suit.

It would work moderately well, but for 400hp you would not "over specify" a turbo to the tune of 125hp, as it will just be laggy and someone with a sc42 will blitz you before your car has even thought about getting up and going, go for the smallest turbo to suit your aims and you will have a very quick car, I would also advise going possibly one size smaller and been at the top end of a smaller turbo than the low end of a big turbo ;)

Its not all about the figures....

Oh and I have no need to look at the catalogue, I am happy with my 517hp :)

SumoPower 11 January 2015 01:49 PM

Thanks for the input guys I would agree that it wouldn't be ideal to spec 500 hp turbo for 400 hp application.
Generally speaking, unless you were competing in some sort of endurance event where you wanted to achieve your power at low boost.
That said the new precision turbos have very efficient turbine and compressor wheels so despite the size they are still very reactive compared to older design units.
If you are looking for 400 hp I would seriously look at the Forced Performance 71 HTA. We also stock the full range of HTA billet turbos.
I don't think they're that popular at the moment for Subarus but they are massive in the Evo world.

MartynJ 14 January 2015 01:29 PM

It might be worth sending one to an established Subaru tuner for testing ;)

SmurfyBhoy 14 January 2015 01:32 PM

what i different about the 2003 sti and 2004 sti ? mines a 2003 blob i know widetrack and dccd are on the 2004 but would tht affect turbo fitting??

Tidgy 14 January 2015 01:33 PM

hmm, what would be suitable for 350-360bhp on 2.0 and what sort of price?

Mad Hammer 14 January 2015 01:59 PM

You should speak to someone that runs a car in S2 in the sprint series maybe ;)

Happy to help Martyn. Agreed S2 sprint car would be ideal test bed.
The feed back weve had is that they also work well on EJ25 due to larger A/R and turbine wheel diameter than most other units in this flow catagory.
Ross deals with all the turbo sales so give him a bell or mail ross@sumopower.com

Mad Hammer 18 January 2015 02:36 PM

Is this a bolt on version of the 5558 by chance ?

bloomydj 14 May 2015 09:56 PM

Sumo,

have these turbos been tested on the UK 2.5 STI yet ? do you have any duno results/info etc ?

if not tested do you need a 2.5 to test ?

Only if it's forged, otherwise it's likely to be goodnight from your engine ;)

nikon-man 10 June 2015 10:53 PM

do you do one that fits an 09 WRX hatch

We make 504.5 on our 2.1 stroker currently using std version 5 heads (we will be having some angry cams and big valves in the new year so will update) all work done by enginetuner mapped by MartynJ

bustaMOVEs 03 November 2015 06:06 PM

Do these come with water/oil lines? And is £1499 the price delivered?

SumoPower 04 November 2015 09:14 AM

Hi,
The oil and water lines are extra, we make them in house so can supply them made up to your own specs and lengths.

We could throw in UK mainland carriage as well.

SumoPower 08 December 2016 10:16 AM

Taking orders for these at the moment.
Feedback has been superb.
