what to get for 6k?

I'm new to the forum and impreza's.

I'm currently in the process of selling my Evo to release some money and am looking at getting a classic impreza.

Ideally I want a 2door but what should I be looking at for my budget of around 6k?

Is it stupid to dismiss the uk 4 doors?

Are non-forged at this age a no go~?

I've sent an email to the one in scotland asking for a breakdown of the engine spec.

The price of particular classics are certainly on the rise like the P1, STI Type R & RA etc.

Having said that this does appear to be overpriced in my opinion but others may see it differently.

After much searching I managed to find an STI Type R & in my experience it is not advisable to be too influenced by the pics, sales talk or even a description by the owner unless they are a proven person on here & have a love for their cars.

Also make sure you know the potential pitfalls when looking for an older car whether it be a classic or otherwise.

Torque GT have an earlier P1 in.

There was a thread on here with a link to that car.
Apparently someone went to view it, said it looked like it had a repair on the rear quarter panel, so they were put off. I think the poster of that thread was after a mint one, so don't know how bad it was.

Search on this site for a thread with type r in it, it was a fairly recent thread.

Strange it's got an airbag as mine doesn't, maybe it was a factory option.:wonder:

I may be mistaken but I'm sure this one has been up for sale sometime. May be worth a phone call though.

airbag was a 'factory delete' option, steering wheel is strange though

maybe its different on the 555 model?
