I've mentioned the marshalling but the old car (what ever it was) slowing down as if he was on the m1 in holiday traffic is madness, the first thing you need to do in a situation like that either on track or the M1 is get in your rear view mirror, not just stop in the middle of a race track. :brickwall

But having said that, you have to adapt your driving to the environment and the ring has all sorts.

Just a few points I'd like to set straight, The ring is a public TOLL road, it is essentially full of HOLIDAY traffic.;)

It is NOT a RACE TRACK.:thumb:

 yeah and when Silverstone does a run what ya brung day and open it up to the public at a cost, let's call it a toll then it's no longer a race track.

Monaco's not a race track either ;)

All true... except I didn't bite and they did. You need about another decade's experience before you can compete with the grand master sunshine :lo1l:

ditchmyster 20 August 2014 11:53 AM

I'll say it again The Ring is not a race track. How often do you see a coach full of tourists going around a race track on race day.:wonder:

john1979 20 August 2014 11:58 AM

Isle of Man isn't a race track, but I've heard people race there once in a while.

Yep and on those occasions as with monaco it's closed to the public, where as the ring is an open to the public toll road.:thumb:

jazzyjembreaze 20 August 2014 01:10 PM

Just pure luck the black 1 got away with it

Not entirely true. In between Practice Week and Race Week, they make the mountain road one way traffic only, from Ramsay to Douglas, open to the general public, but also allowing us hooligans to race around, while still obeying general road rules and road markings, ie. no overtaking on solid white line etc.

Actually i'll save you the trouble, fcuk all except for the back of the red one, then the bimmer he very nearly clipped comes into view and the rest is pure luck.

Couldn't agree more.

Pure luck that the black one didn't clout the armco/anyone else. Plenty of luck for the blue car as well, it wasn't by skill that he found some grip at the last minute.

The guys may be decent enough drivers in decent cars but if you treat the 'ring like a BTCC race then it's only a matter of time.

Dave-W- 20 August 2014 02:15 PM

a lap in my chocolate 2.5 :D

mike112 20 August 2014 03:11 PM

Come on, I´m there quite often and I´m always speeding ;-))

It is always a risk to drive over the nordschleife because of yourself :norty: and others.

I drive on trackdays and normal tourist turns and you see quite alot.

They had fun and were lucky. That´s the risk you take driving on the ring and of course you should accept that.

I enjoyed the Videos :thumb: because nothing happend.

Life is hard enough, enjoy it:thumb:
