its hasnt got the alcon brake upgrade or the recaro seat upgrade its basically a low miles p1 with no rebuild so really just waiting to go pop |

yea overpriced but does look in good nick and not buggered about with...you don't see too many standard cars. Im sure it'll drop before its sold though.

Worth £8-9k IMO to the right buyer who wants a mint low milage P1. No brake or prodrive seat upgrades either!

The P1 was the best UK Impreza UK classic. Nice ones are getting harder to find.
Yes, £16k may sound expensive when you look at where they have been for the last few years, but looking ahead to the future, the only way is up for the P1 and other classics in excellent condition. Basically, if you really, really want one, why shouldn't the owner charge a premium now when looking at what else is out there? |

Recently there have been some Spec C's up for sale on here & 22B, the owners had difficulty selling them at the asking price, one didn't sell & the other went at a knock down price in what would appear excellent condition with low mileage. These figures could be achieved for a P1 maybe in years to come possibly sooner than what some may think but not yet. |

Values of mint classics are on the rise. Thousands have been broken for spares recently meaning that the classic shape Impreza is actually becoming a rare beast. Rarity pushes prices up, especially when people are starting to have more disposable income. A lot of members on here still think a mint classic with no rust is still only worth 2.5k. :rolleyes: Find one. And I do mean a low mileage , no rust example. They just don't come up very often at all. Forget what you have seen on this site for the last few years. Impreza prices in general, are on the up. |
Prices are not on the up IMO. This was up for only a £1000. Not sure if its even sold.

The wife has just come home with a copy of this months AUTOCAR and there's an article on buying a P1, they interview Neil Base from Slowboy Racing who offers up some pretty standard advice but good never the less. They also give a few examples of good used ones, one being described as standard in excellent condition with MOT and 60,150 miles and a full sevice history for £7650.

Yep there may be a 16k P1 out there but it's not that one! I think at the moment you'd need one sub 10k miles, absolutely 100% original and pristine in terms of condition and history to achieve that sort of value, private collection stuff really.
I do agree with some though that P1 prices are improving, with around 8k being about right for a really nice one, while Type R prices seem to be pretty stable at around 1-2k less, which I guess is no surprise, I'd expect to see a clear margin start to appear between P1's and Type R's as they get older. Anyway nothing wrong with someone trying their luck I guess, you never know! |
ide love to know what my old V2 STi RA would be worth now then.. in fact no I wouldn't because ide probably be gutted lol.. mint example with 38000 on the clock

In response to an earlier question about why l feel P1s are starting to appreciate.
Only a thousand made, obviously the numbers remaining are reducing year on year, so there is an increasing rarity value. There is a direct link to Prodrive, which people like. There is a very good owners club, with a lot of help available - P1woc and you can see an increasing number of new members looking for good examples. A number of magazine articles stating what good cars P1s are and this is for cars that haven't been produced for 13 years, this keeps them in people's mind. Top Gear magazine did a 20 year anniversary special listing their 50 greatest cars over the 20 years the magazine, they put the P1 at number 16. I understand that this months Evo have a P1 in their top 20 of something this month - sorry not sure what as l haven't got a copy yet So my opinion is that prices will begin to rise over the next few years, l would suggest 8-11k will be common in a few years obviously l think this will be for good reasonably standard cars. |

V2 STi RA is a tricky one as very rarely come up for sale, and when they do it's usually in an abused or highly modified state, but a good low mileage documented original is a keeper for sure, and being 20 years old now should be one of the first to achieve real classic status, imo a very good one at this moment in time is probably worth around 5-6k, and very much worth snapping up and tucking away for a few years for those in the position to do so!

Apparently, they didn't change the standard sti 5/6 map which was for 100ron fuel. They just a fuel broquet which wears out over time. Couple that to the weakest maf sensor that Subaru ever fitted.
They might be some other changes but those are ones I have read about. Stand to be corrected of course. :thumb: |
well the above estimate was above what I sold mine for.. I sold it lots of Japanese paperwork, import papers and reports. so wish ide kept it.
