For anyone unsure of the history of it all, this pretty much puts it across as simple as possible.

Reasonable in what sense? Why would you keep score in this way?
Israel is going after Hamas targets in Gaza and unfortunately some civilians are being killed as collateral damage, same as what we have done in basically every war we have fought...ever. You obviously believe that it is purely some sort of reprisal, and on that basis all death ratios should be 1:1, then you would sleep soundly. How many Palestinian would have to be killed before the 'ratio' becomes important... 10,000, 100,000, 1,000,000?? bearing in mind that thus far FOUR Israeli's have been killed by Hamas rockets. Now I'm not for one second condoning Hamas's actions, but there is at the heart of this issue a terrible injustice. Israel cannot hide behind Hamas, their government is guilty of terrible crimes... |

Perhaps that just shows that Hamas are a crap aim.
So maybe it's nothing to do with Hamas's ability, and perhaps its more to do with Israel being indiscriminate. |

Any western state would do the same if in the same predicament. Would you tolerate 3000 rockets being fired into England every year? One can only imagine the hysteria in the Daily Mail about the affect on house prices. The military isn't a justice system, it is ugly and brutal and is designed to do horrible things.

Most of the rockets are intercepted by Israel's Iron Dome Defence system. On the other hand, would you tolerate all the land around you being seized and you and your friends and family's possessions and home being bulldozed into the ground, for you probably not since your home is rented, right? If not the property, would you tolerate thousands of UK civillians, many of whom would be innocent children being killed and accept it as nothing more than just collateral damage?

Well you know my feelings on heaven and hell Banny, but if there is a hell, he will be paying it a visit if the above is true.

I ask again, how many innocents have to die, before you change your view on this? |

Yes, but most Western states aren't occupying land rightfully owned by another nation and haven't been grabbing more and more land over the last half century. They also don't operate a two tier state where one section of their society gets first class treatment and another section is treated like dirt with a whole heap of inhumane restrictions placed upon them Oh hang on there was one state like that... it was called South Africa!
As for a two tier state, the 'Palestinians' are not Israeli citizens nor do they live in Israel so what are you talking about? |

That nation you are refering to has never existed. They didn't start calling themselves 'Palestinians' until the 70's.

You are getting confused between the declared State of Palestine and the historical region of Palestine and its people which pretty much goes back to at least 1150BC

Is that it? |
I see they're pulling in thousands of brethren / rich new yorker etc zionists from all over the world to "defend" and extend the promised land

children playing next to the sea, so they blow them up. Disabled people being cared for in there day centre, so they blow them it up. Women and Children seeking safety at UN Schools, so they blow them up. People going about there shopping in a market place so they blow them up. This makes them feel safe  |

A while back I posted about the Syrians slitting the throats of children and now ISIS deter their enemies by putting severed heads on posts outside towns. Not headline news anymore though. I believe Hamas is quite capable of storing missiles in civilian areas and put their own political zeal before a concern about their people. I am not too sure why Israel can't use its land army to scour the streets of Gaza and look for missiles rather than blowing the place to bits.
Peace in Gaza might just be achieved if Israel lifted its blockades and someone like UN could be brought in to supervise imports and stop too many weapons being brought in. Hamas could then save face by claiming that they had "won" and stop it's rockets. Obama needs to get into gear in the Middle East generally as it's one huge, complicated and extremely dangerous mess at the moment. Not an easy task but the USA must take a lead. Death is sickening. dl |

No it's the role of Obama or the UN head. dl ======== As an aside Blair got Labour back into power but Miliiband will make sure that they are kept out. |

Lots of mis representation and distortion of the facts in this thread, but directly quoting someone is wrong. Suggest you stick the the way the usual candidates on this thread have presented things as fact and say "Obama thinks Netanyahu is a liar and cannot be trusted". This way everyone on this thread cannot actually dispute what you have said and several others will take it away and pass it on to friends as "US thinks Israel lies and no one trusts them". |
You can't really stop hooligans where ever they are, isis et al
Palestine v isreal certainly isn't trendy in my book, it's been going on for as long as I can remember anyway. |

I was using it from memory with out checking it up to make sure it was correct. I have looked it up online and found it was Nicolas Sarkozy and Barrack Obama that made comments about Netanyahu. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...iar-Obama.html |

I bet these ******* terrorist israelis fire rockets themselves,to put blame on hamas, so they can retalliate and wipe out the whole of palestine to keep forthemselves...all media and our governments support these terrorist who are doing the exact same as saddam and the rest of the tyrant rulers...because our governments are pro israel they have to paint israel as a innocent to get sympathy from the world
