Why? What are we reading the small print for?

Cpt Jack Sparrow 18 June 2014 02:25 PM

had my MR2 with them 3 years and my Evo VII for 2 years no problem..

I did not however read the small print..... :Suspiciou Based in Gibralter aren't they:wonder:

matt-c 18 June 2014 02:37 PM

Moley and aplan use them:lol1:
Most insurance companies base on Gibraltar:D

Graz 18 June 2014 02:59 PM

Fairly sure I was insured with them when I wrote mine off. All got dealt with quite efficiently as I remember.

They're all just as bad anyway, DirectLine/Privilege being the worst I've dealt with.

Cpt Jack Sparrow 18 June 2014 03:12 PM

Privilege were very good until I needed them to fight a claim for me against themselves :lol1::lol1::lol1:

lost the plot and useless is an undestament.....

3 months and 1 week after the event, still no progress:brickwall:brickwall

As do Sky :lol1:

trevsjwood 18 June 2014 04:46 PM

I've been with Markerstudy for the last 7 years, through different brokers, now A-plan.
I've never made a claim but their premiums have always been very competitive in spite of my hundreds of modifications.

One of 7-8 companies I use for modified Subaru's ;)

I find them easy to deal with, no weird small print that I know of.

Although two other specialists on here use them more than I do, so maybe they could comment.

Wmscooby 18 June 2014 05:50 PM

I'm with A Plan they're great. Will use them again as brokers but will not use markerstudy as my insurers

MattyB1983 18 June 2014 05:56 PM

Why don't you go into more detail as to why you won't use them ???

BLU 18 June 2014 05:57 PM

Yeah a bit of elaboration may help so others do not to suffer as you (seem to) have :thumb:

Carnut 18 June 2014 06:33 PM

The anticipation is to much :wall: what does it say, I need to know.

richie001 18 June 2014 06:34 PM

Pretty useless thread without details

dj219957 18 June 2014 07:01 PM

^agree and aplan use them too! been with market study for years.

beardo47 18 June 2014 07:17 PM

I'm with them, only had to contact them to sort out getting the windscreen chips looked at, very efficient tbh. Think you need to elaborate on your original post.

Or I could just put something like " Don't speak/listen to Wmscooby because "

lordharding 18 June 2014 07:37 PM

We do need the full facts for this discussion to continue

Fortunatly the OP is a relatively high poster so we should get a proper story soon

Carnut 18 June 2014 09:48 PM

Ive just got of the phone with my shrink and I have got to know what it says, the waiting is to much.

BoozyDave 18 June 2014 10:01 PM

thread is pointless without more details :brickwall

CharlySkunkWeed 19 June 2014 07:25 AM

Have any of you read the small print yet ?

Did you make a claim though?

I'd be interested to hear what the OP's gripe is with them.

mshill 19 June 2014 10:53 PM

Markerstudy are terrible when it comes to a claim, they drag their heels forever and try and find any loose end within your information declared to avoid paying out.

just make sure you have informed them of all personal details as well as mods.

You only ever find out how good your insurance company is when you have a claim, there all great at taking your dosh at the start.

stedee 19 June 2014 11:41 PM

ive had grief off them tbh.

due to a no fault claim. i was driving my missus`s car covered 3rd party on my own fully comp policy. some berk crashed into us totally his fault, he admitted liability.
i phoned my insurance a-plan immediately after (saturday so went through to more of a emergency line because not in office hours).i was told someone will ring me monday which they did. they couldnt help with the claim so told me to contact the other drivers insurance co. my missus`s insurance gave the same answer.

i contacted the other drivers insurance who excepted liability and were really good. no messing gave us a courtesy car and fixed my missus`s car to a really good standard.

then i get a snotty call of markerstudy saying i hadnt reported it to them and that it was a criminal offense to not report an accident within 24 hours. i told them i contacted a-plan to which i was told i had to contact markerstudy not a-plan. my answer was what is a-plan`s claim no. there for then.
i kept telling them the other insurance company had accepted liability and the car was already getting repaired.
then she got me on a conference call to the dvla to check my license.
then to top it off at the end of about a 1 hour call (not joking) she asked the reg of the car that was involved, i gave the missus`s reg. explaining once again i was driving her car on my policy so was only covered 3rd party.
then once she realised it wasnt my car, basically changed her tune straight away. oh sorry we cant help you.

i was mega pi55ed off but what worried me is how they treat you for a no fault claim let alone a fault claim. i will avoid using them again if i can, dont like being treated like a criminal to use something i have paid for.

joz8968 20 June 2014 09:26 AM

That's shocking.

LuckyWelshchap 20 June 2014 01:34 PM

Well the op's started something here.

They are jarred off but it's everyone else's bad experiences we're hearing about, not their own :wonder:

One wanders if he had a dispute over fault and the insurer have dealt with the third party claim (probably "without prejudice to liability") and his premium and no clamis discount has been affected. I am making a wild guess, as the OP hasnt come back to tell us!

that's terrible

I wouldn't fancy dealing with them for a fault claim.......
