Sounds like the computer can't keep up with it. What spec is the computer?

Jaysz 13 April 2014 08:14 PM

Its windows 7 64 bit with 2g of ram which should be enough

CREWJ 13 April 2014 08:19 PM

Not really, that's not a lot by modern standards. I wouldn't be surprised if it takes up all the RAM in order to perform the scan.

What processor does it have?

Jaysz 13 April 2014 08:24 PM

shows 2gb on there site but processor is amd athlon 2 340 dual core

If this is a paid-for version of Kaspersky, have you tried contacting their Technical Support? They might have info on how to avoid the problem, or how to setup logging so you/they can figure out what's causing it.

Jaysz 15 April 2014 07:13 PM

I have contacted them lots and sent get system info
Not sure they know much about the software lol

probably hard disk throughput, when your computer locks like that its normally memory or Hdisk.

uninstall it for now, install Panda Free or Avast try them 2, then go to technical support

Jaysz 22 April 2014 02:56 PM

Replys from kaspersky has been send system info then uninststall then reinstall and send them log just paid for it so don't really want to use free program http://i709.photobucket.com/albums/w...psc9663d41.jpg
This is when freezes

Littleted 22 April 2014 03:32 PM

Hdisk then.

Do what they say Uninstall and then re-install, if its still bad, Uninstall it, and just try another vendor as I advised, report back on full scans.

if your on 64bit 7 then add some more memory, only 32bit was bottle neck at 4gb ram, 64bit will go higher. I hazard a guess for your laptop it would be about 40 quid.

but before we go that route just try what ive said and let me know

My dad has a dell Celeron duo with 7 and 2gb ram and its awfully slow on booting maybe 10 mins before you can work on it

Jaysz 22 April 2014 03:52 PM

Reinstalled it and is the same
Its not that slow
