Newbie with a question

Hey everyone, just joined today. Left my deposit on my first subaru impreza wrx sti 2006 with the PPP running at 320bhp

Loved the car was perfect BUT I love loud cars & it has the prodrive exhaust but for me it's just too quite, can you make these louder or are they best not touched? I was thinking of changing the through pipe to un-silence it & have the awesome burble noise!

Hi Kieran,

You can change the exhaust for a louder one but I think if you change the down pipe it'll need a remap. You could just change the back box. If you do a search ( above) you'll find loads of threads on it.

Remember and put ""on each "word".

ok thanks dave, which are the best exhausts to go for? i want a loud jap looking one like the ones the angle out, also what do prodrive exhausts go for roughly?

Can I suggest that you drive the car for a few weeks just to get used to it?

Loud exhaust are great when 'gunning' down the road but they are a pain in the arse on a daily basis.

Hayward & Scott are popular and British made - I had a Blitz Nur Spec R on my Hawkeye and loved it. Youtube is your friend for exhaust sounds.

Here you go...

Matt_STi 07 April 2014 09:40 AM

I have a blitz nur spec (as above video) and i love it. It's certainly loud enough!

Gear Head 07 April 2014 10:36 AM

Just don't drive round my way or I'll rip the poxy thing off!

CutMasterT 07 April 2014 10:46 AM

Or go for a Roger Clark Team ice system. That is ridiculously loud ;)

Rab555 07 April 2014 10:58 AM

The afterburner raptor is quite a beast too!

Kieran-STI 07 April 2014 11:14 AM

In all seriousness, is it your daily driver and do you have neighbours?

Both the raptor and blitz are silly loud and should be banned in my opinion. The team ice exhaust is not for road use anyway.

Shameless plug but, I also have a Ninja 2 back box with decat centre pipe which I'm looking to swap for a more toned down system. Search Scoobyworld for pics and my youtube for a vid of it on tickover and under revs (kedlestone09). Drop me a pm if interested :) Will be getting a Miltek system incase you ask about swaps ;)

There are two different types of Blitz Nur Spec exhausts, the type R is a quieter version with less cabin noise at normal speeds, and then a nice roar at high RPM. The one in the YouTube clip is a type R exhaust, it's fairly neighbour friendly actually.
