Well loving this car :) what insurance company did you go with for your trips to the ring?

Steve

-Nic- 08 April 2014 08:55 PM

None mate, no Uk company will cover you for TF days and the DN track days are normal track day rules.

How's yours?

Mine's doing good....considering it gets used like how it shouldn't :lol1: It's still got the standard wheels now since (as you know), I'm not fitting the BBSs.

I got myself the optional STI sport muffler (which I believe is what the RA-R/Spec C RA 2005) comes with and it's bloody awesome. Subtle when cruising but it amplifies the turbo woosh and just sounds wicked when I give it some! :D

The trim on the B pillar look like it's made for this seat. :D Do you have to loop the seatbelt through that hole? Take it that's how it's supposed to be?

Also, how did you extend your seatbelt receptacle?

The ring is definitely the playground of the Impreza. Bet it felt right at home. :thumb:

-Nic- 09 April 2014 07:53 AM

You don't 'have' to loop the belt through but that's how it's supposed to be.
I had to customise the OE seat belt receptacle to get it to fit there although I might make a MK II version :thumb:

Have you got a picture with the STI exhaust fitted?

Spent some close up time with this car last year and it was absolutely stunning, real credit to the owner and RCM......... was nice to see that it was used and that shortly after it was at Spa and the ring

juggers 10 April 2014 12:51 AM

Nic who made your custom side mounts? I need some new ones making which are the same as the standard S204 side mounts , but 20mm wider on each side. The seats don't slide as freely as they should and it's starting to annoy me now!

-Nic- 10 April 2014 08:39 AM

They're an off the shelf steel side mount that I then re bent, re shaped and re drilled to suit.

What do you need making up? Do you have a drawing or a picture of an existing one?

Fantastic car :notworthy:notworthy

I told you to sell those seats as they are not for your car but you wouldn't listen :D:poke:

Love it !! Like how it's on 60 plate as I not seen one before that new

Is that the only way? Isn't there a proper extension kit for the receptacle? :wonder:

I most certainly do. :D

For a bit more, I could've gotten a catback system from one of those Japanese exhaust manufacturer's which would probably give me more power gains, but this makes the right noise for me (having seen many exhaust clips). And that badge is something else. :D

^That's really beautiful. It's the titanium one isn't it?

You did a great job :thumb:

I did ask Olly to pass on my thanks. It's the first time it had all been the same shade of white I think :)

STI Glenn 11 April 2014 05:09 PM

That is a stunning back box

jimblive 11 April 2014 06:05 PM

Very nice.
I've been toying with the idea of putting a Recaro pole position in mine, that's pretty much made it a done deal now!

No it isn't. It's stainless steel. There's another optional titanium one and then there's the S204 titanium one that comes originally fitted on that car. The titanium ones have a matt finish. :)

A small update. Have made a few changes for the summer season..

Swapped the KW Clubsport's for Bilstein B14's..

http://i673.photobucket.com/albums/v...e/image-26.jpg

http://i673.photobucket.com/albums/v...e/image-29.jpg

The reason why... ;) Tiny Nurburgring stickers :D

http://i673.photobucket.com/albums/v...e/image-28.jpg

Swapped the Michelin Pilot Super Sports for Yokohama AD08-R's

http://i673.photobucket.com/albums/v...e/image-25.jpg

And added the S204 interior trim :thumb:

http://i673.photobucket.com/albums/v...e/image-23.jpg

Really impressed with the Bilstein kit so far, coupled with the AD08-R's it's a really good combination.

Hopefully I can do the car some justice at the 'ring this season...

Thanks to RCM as usual for their work on the car.

AD08R's are tidy mate, love them on mine :)

That exhaust is lovely btw :) shiney is nicer than my brushed S202 jobby :(

Best to speak with RCM mate as there's more than one option.

stevemoir 09 June 2014 05:30 AM

Hi nic

You wouldn't be selling the kw's by any chance would you? Sure they would fit a UK hawk?

Steve

Hi Nic,

How do the Bilstein's compare to the stock set up? As it was always a common complain that the stock suspension skips a fair bit on lumpen roads. Does the bilstein feel better?

Are they bound/rebound adjustable?

Regards
Errol
