Hawkeye Spec C
Had to think long and hard before I sold my Bugeye, the only car I have ever bought brand new and ment a lot to me. I know your not supposed to get emotionally attatched to a metal object, but thats easier said than done after 7 and 1/2 years of owning it, it will be sorely missed http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...ilies/cry2.gif
I done loads of research before I decided on the right car for me, been looking since October 2009, not as hardcore as Speccy's (Spec-C '57') blob (which started my passion for a Spec C 4 years ago), but definately the right choice for me http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...lies/thumb.gif It's an 06 Hawkeye Spec C, one of only two black ones in the UK, I originally wanted a white one, but after seeing it in black, I totally fell in love with it! Was imported in 2007 with 5k kilometers on the clock by PCM (Immy), had one owner in the UK, then sold back to Immy, it now has 11600 on the clock, a few choice goodies from RCM and re-mapped (no mats in this one http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...ilies/lol1.gif) by Bob Rawle who mapped my Bug almost 70k miles ago so obviously I'm totally confident in his skills! The bug http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...es/luvlove.gifhttp://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...es/luvlove.gif....... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...k/P1020018.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...k/P1020035.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...k/P1020093.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4.../roofrack3.jpg And the Speccy after a quick clean (need to take some proper piccies) http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...lies/norty.gifhttp://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...lies/norty.gifhttp://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...lies/norty.gif.......... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...ick/back-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...ick/engine.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...ck/front-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...ick/inside.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...uick/side2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...quick/roof.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...uick/side3.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...uick/side5.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...uick/side6.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...ick/side-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...quick/back.jpg Reason why it's so LOUD............ http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...k/exhaust2.jpg Power graph after Bob mapped it........... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4.../remap-2-1.jpg One VERY happy bunny....... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v46/kin_quick/me.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...quick/pipe.jpg My bug made 273bhp and 250 Ib ft torque on Surrey rolling road last year, but this thing scares the sh1t out of me http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...milies/eek.gif Only driven it in the snow and wet so far, every time I floor it, the back tries to over-take the front which is fun http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...es/biggrin.gif Gearbox is taking time to get used too, didn't realise how different it would be. I can put it in 6th gear at 40mph and it feels totally happy, but drop it into 2nd at 40mph and all 4 wheels spin up instantly, and continue to do so in 3rd and 4th http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...lies/norty.gif First mod is to change the exhaust as it is silly loud due to being a true straight through pipe with no silencers. Gets on your t1t's after the novelty has worn off (about 5minutes). Then some mud flaps as I want to protect it as much as possible from stone chips, then some driver training and track days http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...es/biggrin.gif Like to thank Speccy for putting up with me texting and calling to constantly ask questions, and also Shaun (ex-webby) for answering my PM's. Hope you like it guys http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...lies/thumb.gif Kin 'scared sh1tless' |

That exhaust must be insane - it's a shame they don't come with volume control for when you want to be a complete hooligan. Great looking car:thumb:
|
Very nice mate, as was your bug. Im a white classic man myself, but seeing this could turn me to newage. Leave the exhaust on, if you want a quiet drive use the kia. haha...

|
very very nice
good car mate |
Hi Ross
i can imagine how hard it must have been to part with the bug but the hawkeye, and being a spec c will certainly help soften the heartache lol looks awesome mate, will you be at brands 2moro so i can see it in the metal? go for the prodrive mudflaps, i have had these on my hawkeyes and they dont bend up like others do: prodrive and as for an exhaust, its gotta be the Nurspec, i had that on mine and was tame on normal driving but loud when u wanted it lol mind u i had the b/ox only, if you're going to have th emid section too, which i assume you would due to the re-map, could be too loud lol |
Looks awsome ,get a HKS hi silent be nice on your car
|
Nice, that's something special for sure with power to match.
|
Ross,
Cracking car..... I hope you enjoy it! :) Feel free to ask any other questions you may have on the Spec C..... always more than happy to help out a fellow Spec C owner. :) I am busy building a dedicated website to detail all of the past, present and future work of my Spec C, as much of the information has been lost from the original articles published on here many years ago. If the information helps other Spec C owners, it will be worth the graft! |
Saw this on his website, very nice indeed!! Your Bug was a good 'un too mind :thumb:
|

welcome to the club mate, very nice, ive not seen one in black berfore. i too am a fellow hawkeye spec c owner, i went down a very different route to shaun and have built a 500 bhp time attack specific motor. details of which can be found in the link below
https://www.scoobynet.com/projects-4...ack-build.html shaun has fully developed and thoroughly documented his cars journey stage by stage and by reading his threads you can avoid costly mistakes. good luck with ownership hope you enjoy |
