Yeh its a good pipe, I've got one on my classic, the flow is only slightly worst to a normal decat dpipe, considering it has a 100cell cat in it, that's pretty good. My classic produced 265bhp n 272lb/ft with tek3 remap, this dpipe and a magnex centre pipe. The car will still pass the mot with it to.

No that dnt look right...have you emailed it to Scoobyworld...to see what they say?

New_scooby_04 29 July 2006 02:55 PM

My MY99 with one fitted (and other supporting mods of course)

So, its not much of a restriction at all!

StiX 29 July 2006 03:40 PM

Ditto all the above - top piece of kit.

Same mods as bioforger and 273/273 for me.

Flew through MOT with it a few weeks ago too :)

Also, noticed the price has come back down to its introductory offer also, £299.

hijack alert, soz

how would this compare with a prodrive sports cat? much better bhp/torque:confused:

Gear Head 29 July 2006 10:31 PM

Seriously considering one these myself. Do you still get the pops and bangs though? (And no, I don't have a VTA!)

I have one fitted to my uk95 great pipe big difference over standard i would recommend to anyone.

sjwent 31 July 2006 12:24 AM

Batfink,

I got one of these on the recent group buy, nice peice of kit - Havn't had it fitted yet though. Where you've circled is there a screw sticking out into the pipe ? - because there is on mine. If yes any idea's why it's there ?.

Steve

the hole is for the lambada sensor if that aint fitted the ecu will go nuts and put wrong fuel and air mixture into the cylinders

sjwent 31 July 2006 07:04 AM

No you misunderstand - it's not the hole for the lambda sensor I'm talking about. It's a small screw coming out of the sidewall of the pipe.

I'll try and post a picture later

WaltonWRX 31 July 2006 07:56 AM

I have one of these fitted to my 1995 Wrx, My lambada sensor isn't where that hole is so put a bung in it :thumb:

Pops and farts lovely out the rear end, Go and get one I say :D

James Neill 31 July 2006 09:06 AM

There seems to be two sports-cat downpipe options for the classic. Obviously the one above and this one

http://www.tsl-motorsport.co.uk/news...0008&detail=33
(TSL Thundercat)

Which one is better? (ie, more flow)

The Ninga downpipe has just been realeased, however i think its too early to comment on a comparision, but i have read they both are very similar, and there is a huge price difference between the two..

SamUK 31 July 2006 11:14 AM

Looks more like a blob of weld or similar. Just hasn't been cleaned up very well. (at all?).

sjwent 31 July 2006 05:29 PM

It's not a blob of solder....... it's a screw sticking out of the sidewall.

Nobody else got this on there ninja d/p then ?

James Neill 31 July 2006 05:35 PM

I bet it was a screw used to hold the thing together whilst they did the welding

bioforger 31 July 2006 05:53 PM

yeh mine didnt have a screw in it! that aint good.

Phill-type-R 31 July 2006 06:11 PM

Its actually a piece of metal sticking out the side of it. I've been told to grid it off, but I will just ask Derek at Zen what he thinks is best to do with it. Scoobyworld isnt that far from them, so it wouldnt take long to swap over.

Bat-Fink 31 July 2006 06:13 PM

Ello you:norty:

Yeah thought i'd put it on here as alot of people have got em on here.

So would have thought they would now.

NeilT 31 July 2006 06:25 PM

just picked up on this thread, the Ninja DP certainly shouldn't have a 'screw' sticking out of it.

Anyhow - give us a call and we'll swap it out for a new one, no problem.

DIPSY 31 July 2006 08:16 PM

You get that with welding it just a weld blob .If you have a steady hand use a die grinder and buff it smove .You will need a good stone with it being staniless it pretty hard stuff. Its tacked together before welding

is it actually a screw or a piece off over weldin some times that can happen?

Phill-type-R 04 August 2006 03:16 PM

Its being fitted over the next few days at Zen :) Along with the re-map and a few others :)

sjwent 04 August 2006 07:01 PM

My D/P is getting fitted by Xretreme on the 10th, so we'll find out wether it's a screw/ blob of solder / or whatever. I'll let you all know

DIPSY 04 August 2006 07:30 PM

I am a welder and thats a weld blob just formed into a point

911 04 August 2006 10:22 PM

imho Dipsy is right. It is a tack weld or a simple hot spot during the welding.
Grind it smooth, or it will be a very hot spot when the engine is at full chat.

Real downside with this and the TSL is they don't do a 3'' right through. The 2.5'' neck is a prob for those over 350 bhp.
