It uses the OBD (on-board diagnostics) Select Monitor connection thats under the steering column, it uses all the existing sensors that the ECU has access to and displays them in real-time.
An oil temperature sensor is the only sensor that would require retro fitting as these are not standard on Imprezas. I have seen it in the flesh and its a very spinky bit of kit. :) Lol, re-read your question, Doh ! No you dont need the guages, they look bloody hideous I think. :) [Edited by Big Goon - 11/2/2002 3:15:26 PM] |

See you saturday shane,
Bruce £295, Front panel finish is something we are still debating may offer 2 finishes black and silver ( to suit MY01+ cars better ). simon |
Very interested ~ please contact me as per profile.
Thanks, simon:D |
Let me guess.... only avaliable for MY99 cars onwards???? Don't suppose you've got one in the pipeline for MY92-96 cars????
Tony. |
Tony, we do intend on a version for earlier cars, we will need a donor car, contact me if your interested ? , OBD (diagnostic reading) is only available for cars with the 16 pin diagnostic socket output, but other features will be available.
simon |
Simon,
looks a great product! so are you using OBD or the Subaru select protocol? if OBD then sorry all out there, thats only 99-> (boo hoo) (unless I'm wrong again - which wouldnt supprise me!:)) if select, then could be made to work with pre 99's!! Steve |
Si, any chance of doing a custom carbon jobby to match the rest of my interior ?
I see you have the 'cheapo' standard finish still :p |
Shane, are you related to Uri Geller :D , we have just been looking at the unit fitted in the cars and talking about that very thing, will definately offer black or silver and almost certainly carbon fibre. Could be made from real carbon sheet or the stick on variety. We can chat some more tomorrow.
simon |
Definately interested in this, if you can get it on a Jap MY95, for the right price, fitted! :) :) :)
Thanks, Paul. [Edited by paulflowe - 10/18/2002 6:38:36 PM] |
