a change of car

well with the ra going I decided to go for a change for a while and I picked up this Megane RS 250 Cup and I love it. its a much more, shall we say 'grown up' car with plenty of optional extras such as Recaros, RS monitor, daytime running lights ect... couple that with a brand new scorpion cat back , Airteck front mount and induction kit it still has the power to put a smile on your face. The RS button makes the car alot more fun too, sharpening up the throttle response, increasing the exhaust noise and allowing for some subtle pops :)

Not at all.. i dont mind moving away to another make of car. Seems you know the ins and outs of every other car being a subaru driver.

BrownPantsRacing 20 April 2017 02:04 PM

I had a Renault once. Every time I pressed the passenger electric window button the headlights would flash! Amazing piece of kit that was!

No, i just shied away from pre adolescent hot hatches and went down the M route instead and found it boring.

Can't even imagine how slow 400bhp awd down to 250 fwd that can't even use that power untill 3rd would feel,,,, :lol1::lol1::lol1::lol1:

I had a RS 172 cup and absolutely loved it. I appreciate the RS Megane and have driven a few, nice and much more comfortable though not as much fun as the Scooby and they need a 5 door version.

Nice looking car mate, some f**king idiots on here, you'd think Subarus never broke down. As long as your happy with it and the kids are safe ;)

I'd certainly have em

TonyBurns 26 April 2017 04:42 AM

Very nice car, more than capable of leaving exotic and so called performance cars in its wake, fwd or not, it can still leave rwd and awd cars without difficulty.

For those taking the p155 out of french cars, they are far better than they use to be, electrics were never really a problem unless you had an old one with a brittle connection in the loom between the doors.

I dont regret going back to fwd, I still miss the brutal looks of the Spec C and its basicness but not the lack of refinement or fuel economy and servicing costs ;) plus if you ever see the vid of the 330S around Anglesey and then a french coupe with 60bhp less, one in the dry and one in the wet, fwd wins by over 4 seconds ;)

Cheers guys..im more than happy with it, performance is very good it surprized me actually just how responsive the throttle is. Its very comfortable for a hothatch and plenty big enough space wise. The boot is massive. I dont miss the 4wd of my imprezas, i never drove the car to feel the benefit anyway..on a track maybe but i dont do track days so that doesnt matter to me.

The Renaultsport arm sure know how to build a driver's car.

b16jonc 28 May 2017 08:14 AM

I'm not a fan of anything French although if I was to go down that route I'd definatley consider one of those, looks a smart little motor

Yeh only time I owned anything French was either out of necessity or there was a profit in it, either that or I may have been heavily intoxicated when I made the purchase !!!
