no..

built 2litre with the standard V6 WRX type R heads.. (not sti) running on a SimTek.

Simon

joz8968 30 March 2009 10:26 PM

Cheers.

Really strong pistons/rods/crank/bearings, I take it?

Simon, what sort of ballpark figures to expect the 321H to make on a v.1 ODB with v.1 WRX hydraulic heads (with all appropriate supporting mods, of course), on V-Power only?

harvey 31 March 2009 12:36 AM

It would be interesting to know the full spec.
1 bar around 3650 if I am seeing the graph right ? Why the slow spool?

TingTongPJ 31 March 2009 06:36 PM

anger out of interest what torque are you running ?

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...1/scan0004.jpg[/QUOTE]

think jp is still pound for pound top dog at the moment :thumb:

anyone got a equiv or better set up ?

can't believe the build up of the boost and torque for a car running over 400bhp :notworthy

It is unfair to compare VVT cars to none vvt cars imho. I could stick up a graph of a 2.5 car with the vvt heads on a t+, that would out spool anything here.

Harvey, the SRR rollers (as I'm sure other rollers do too) seem to make the cars spool later. My car on the road did manage 1 bar at 2600 rpm, yet same spec got to 1 bar at 3100 on SRR

Juice 31 March 2009 10:55 PM

harvey any graphs for that hs420 on a 2.5 sti?
im interested in it if its gona make the figures i want

Would that be the slight lag induced because of having to overcome the rollers' initial inertia?...

Or are the rollers really light and instantly free-spinning, therefore not accountable for that 500rpm later spool-up point? :wonder:

Mus 01 April 2009 11:36 AM

it would be nice to see a graph of a T36 or hs420 on a built 2.5?

MD321H and the vf28, on my p1
vf28 was after decat, big kn and a remap.
Same spool as the vf then leaves it for dead.
The delta dash was done on the same bit of road, same gear and very close air temps.

love the 321h it did every thing mark and Bob said it would.

dynamix 01 April 2009 11:41 AM

Yet another under-performing MD321H ;)

Nice graphs :thumb:

That's impressive! Basically a 400bhp turbo producing the same drive-ability as a 320bhp turbo with all other things equated as far as possible.

I guess that's why it's not cheap! :D

which of the turbos make 400 torque? on 2liter non vvt

PIant 01 April 2009 12:42 PM

321h would of done 400 lbs/ft. with more boost on a built engine.
But mine was a standard p1 engine so was mapped to 1.5 bar tailing off.

ZEN Performance 01 April 2009 02:36 PM

25% transmission loss?

More like 375hp in real terms!

Agree - I'm currently making 377lb/ft at just over 5K rpm on a standard 03 STI engine using a 321H running just over 1.7 bar tailing to 1.5bar top end. With a built engine and 2bar of boost, I expect to get well over 400lb/ft

What a good read, long but good.

glen.w 19 August 2010 05:24 PM

just had my 03 sti rebuild done and had all forged up:) just lookin for a turbo now to get my car close to 400 bhp and torgue??? which is best??

RA Dunk 19 August 2010 05:50 PM

If you want 'close' to 400 BHP (or sometimes a bit more) pound for pound the 20G won't be beat.

Even tho a MD321T spools faster on a 2 litre lol.... and yes i had both on my RA

JGM will back this up aswell as he found the same result

B0DSKI 19 August 2010 06:39 PM

Forgot i'd even started this thread!! After what I learnt on here I ended up going for a 321T. Should have the car back with it and a sh1t load of other bits done in the next week or so :)

fastboyslim 19 August 2010 06:43 PM

So Bobski, the t seem to be better on a newage than a h?

B0DSKI 19 August 2010 06:50 PM

For 400-450 Bhp yes

fastboyslim 19 August 2010 07:40 PM

Is the h beter to 400?

Anger 19 August 2010 07:43 PM

I had a H, then went to a T and there isnt a massive difference between them... well apart from about 40bhp and a load more torque ;)
