Looks like about 402 IIRC that Custom Code were claiming, and it may well run a bit more than 340 to start with.

The Evo 9 would go from 300 to 400 BHP with a remap, exhaust and a modification to the airbox.

A lot of VAG turbo/supercharged engines do more than their ratings in contrast to their NA stuff like the RS4 which is often short.

I really like the TT RS, love the idea that its a sleeper really, ok, a TT is still fast but not properly fast like a mapped RS, I love the GTR as well but they are a bit conspicuous in comparison.

Audi had to place the RS under the R8 V8. As you can see from the performance figures posted earlier, the RS with 335hp is already very close to the R8 V8 with 415hp. Had they released it with more, with it being quicker than the R8, then it would have perhaps infringed on R8 sales.

The 2.5T lump is a very tuneable engine, with 335hp, some say it has been restricted by Audi for the reason above and why it responds very well to a remap. The figure of 410hp is reliable yes, it's not just CC that claim this figure, revo do too and there are a few others to name a few, AMD, Sportec etc.

I'm not sure on the stage 2 figures however, In the link I posted earlier, it looks like a full exhaust system and stage 2 tune, give it an extra 40hp upto 450ish. This seems substantial to me but James at JBS has been in the VAG tuning scene for years now and has his own rolling road at JBS so he will be able to back these up I suspect. Revo quote 450 too for stage 2 as seen in Jonny Cockers pistonheads ad.

335hp upto 450hp for £2.2k isn't too shabby:thumb: I think the big winner for the RS is it's affordability. It's cheap to run, insure, tax, and has very good performance/potential. It will keep strong residuals, the interior and build quality are the best in the business, the exterior, well that's down to taste, but I think it's a stunning looking car. Lot of plus points, negative points, not sure on them yet, it's a tarted up hairdresser TT if you like.

R8 V10, yes please, infact I'd love even a V8 sat on the drive:thumb:

To be honest, I can't see anyone who's going to buy a V8 R8 being too concerned if the TTRS is the same output or not.

I know 2 people with the R8 and a TT didn't even enter their thought process, and I don't think either of them realise the power outputs (car just 'looks' nice :rolleyes: )

As an aside, my wife's due a new car in 6 months time and we went into our local Audi to have a look.
I showed her the TTRS in the showroom and the look of disdain on her face was a picture.

I seem to remember words along the line of "...no ****ing chance am I driving a TT of any sort..." leave her mouth.

Just come out of a B7 RS4 back in to a 'normal' Audi. Regardless of the obvious performance loss, I've lost any kind of driver feedback facility that I had, other than looking out the window and knowing I've turned around a corner. (it is that bad)
Brakes = nill feedback
Steering = nill feedback
Chassis = nill feedback

Not driven the RS5, but it would be tragic if Audi have reverted to type and created a numb car, after the absolute peach that the B7 RS4 was.

In terms of warranty etc. I had a very good selection of dealer paper work for the times mine was in the garage and I'm glad I paid for the 1st year extension even if it did cost over a grand !!!!! Then you have the impending carbon issue as time goes on.... ;)

I picked up my RS in Macclesfield yesterday which has a 300m return home journey.

Fuel economy, 280m or so at 70-75mph, 15m on winding A roads between 30-85mph, a couple of miles at silly speed on the M6 and a couple of miles in town to get to my front door to make up the 300m shown in the pics so I would say a mixture of all driving.

I was very pleasantly surprised, I thought the 2.5T was going to be a thirsty bugger, it may well prove to be but from my first drive, 95% motorway based, they are as below...
