OK, update !! I have also now secured 15% off of the Digimoto software, this is viewbale at OBDII Software, Vehicle Diagnostics Software .

Having used this for a while now, it certainly seems to be the best feature packed for the price allowing fault code analysis and reset etc. Plus it displays 'virtual' selectable gauges and graphs. I've just fed back some software changes and they are implementing a report feature where you can print a report of your vehicle, just like the professionals.

Version 4.03 is available now, but version 5 is soon to be released. I will post some screen shots on my site over the next few days. If you purchase version 4.03, it comes with the activation code for version 5 (also known as Digitmoto V) which is downloadable from their forum / beta section.

good price but I've just downloaded a program called ecuexplorer for free and all I now need is a OBD2 cable which is about 20 quid which will do the same as this

The hardware i use is compatible with ECUExplorer. If you can find a OBD2 cable for £20 i'd be VERY interested indeed !!

My guess is you have an OBD plug to an RS-232 Serial plug and thats it. These are normally around the £20 price on their own. This doesn't mean you can pluf the Rs-232 straight into your PC. You then need the OBD analyser which interprits the OBD data coming from the car into serial for the various pieces of software to read.

Quite a few people have bought these £20 cables expecting them to be full OBD readers only to be dissapointed. Post what you have seen and i will let you know for sure. Don't waste your money on the cable, buy one of the ones i have as they include what you have seen and are full OBD2 compliant across all protocols for most makes of modern cars.

What do you want screen shots of mate. The devices i get are just the hardware and work with nearly all the popular different types of software.

So in effect you can use what ever you want.

I tend to use www.digitmoto.com where i have secured a 15% discount if purchased after buying the OBD hardware device. It works out the the software is then only about £20.
