Good effort last night Doug, you should have heard our commander shouting down teamspeak - DOUG BEHIND YOU! lol :D

I think Kieran has PM'd you the details - make sure you get a headset sorted. :)

More BF2 tomorrow night on the server :)

Kieran_Burns 29 May 2006 04:23 PM

Doug! THAT doug!!!

Hey you were good last night mate!!! Good to see you made it :)

Managed to get my promo from last night - I actually went through the 8000 point barrier as the Commander last night (and yes it WAS me shouting DOUG! BEHIND YOU!!!! :D :D :D )

Got my sniper badge today as well, but my kill/death ratio took a battering..

Now for the pistol and knife (anyone know what the amended requirements are now?)

DrEvil 29 May 2006 05:31 PM

knife = 7 kills in a round
pistol = 5 kills in a round

Personally I think that this is Rs about face - as knife is far harder.

doug2507 29 May 2006 05:33 PM

Lol, i did see it typed but as i read the 'YOU' i think i got slotted.:D

Any recomendation's on a headset? Was gonna go with a Medusa ProGamer/Portable USB........:wonder:

DrEvil 29 May 2006 05:46 PM

I'm happy with Sienhiesser PC-155 USB h/s :)

Kieran_Burns 29 May 2006 06:57 PM

I'm getting seriously annoyed with my mouse / keyboard combo - anyone got a recommendation??? (got the MS wireless laser moue 6000)

DrEvil 29 May 2006 07:15 PM

I used wired solutions, got fed up of wireless crap'in out.

Saitek Gamers Keyboard + Logitech G5 mouse - took me a while to get used to the gamers pad & get the right buttons mapped, but really great k/b.
As for the G5, awesome mouse, will never buy Razor mice again after the diamond back I have (gather dust).

DemonDave 29 May 2006 07:42 PM

ditto drevil - had a full logitech dinovo setup and had problems

gone to a saitek eclipse keyboard but a logitech g7 wireless mouse - a lot better and fine for games :)

Puff The Magic Wagon! 29 May 2006 08:38 PM

Being a CS person, I was always under the impression that Wireless has the potential for added latency so I always use a wired optical mouse.

Is this right?

Taff107 29 May 2006 09:07 PM

Can't see how a wireless mouse could increase latency................

doug2507 29 May 2006 10:27 PM

Another G5 here. Didn't opt for the G7 as i couldnt be bothered having to put my mouse on charge every night, or every few hours as my laptop's awake if i'm awake. I also dont find the cable intrusive in any way.:thumb:

The G5 is probably the best mouse i've had my hand(s) on. Got an Everglide Titan mat for silky smoothness and some Steelpad Grips are on the way to ensure my hand doesn't slip off when fragging away to my hearts content.:D

As for keyboard, the one supplied with my Rock Xtreme does the job just fine....;)

DemonDave 29 May 2006 11:00 PM

the g7 comes with two quick change batteries - nice and easy to swap over and charge

Kieran_Burns 30 May 2006 08:19 AM

The problem I find with the wireless mouse is that you aren't aware of the lowering signal strength until it starts to get jerky. Before then you just find yourself dying more often because you can't target the bad guys as easily and you think it's just you!

Glad the mouse pad got mentioned - any recommendations there as well???

DrEvil 30 May 2006 10:42 AM

I use an eXactmat with my G5, trouble is only one side of it works with the G5, but it does work extremely well :)

BF2 tonight, although the football is on so the first game might not kick off until later than normal (was close to 10pm last time).

doug2507 30 May 2006 02:41 PM

Ha, i didnt start till around 1am having tinkered about with a new hi'fi set-up till around 10. Then thinking it would be a good idea, decided to defrag my HD's. (29%frag). 3 hours later, 2 films with about 10 cups of coffee and 2 packets of biscuits, it was done!:freak3:

Mouse mat: Everglide Titan. www.kustompcs.co.uk

DrEvil 30 May 2006 02:56 PM

I will aim to be on from around 9pm tonight, hopefully as many as possible will be on from then.

Sunday actually kicked off around 9pm and finished at 1:45am!
Fantastic games, really enjoyed it - and yes, I was a bit tired yesterday too :D

Thursday last week didn't kick off until around 10pm due to the football, tis what I expect will happen tonight as well.... but those that don't watch it will no doubt be on from 9 hopefully :)

_RIP_ 30 May 2006 06:35 PM

I should be on later, if anyone can remember who I am :(

lol, damn my hopel3ssMAX ADSL....... :wonder:

Kieran_Burns 30 May 2006 09:07 PM

DrEvil 31 May 2006 12:38 AM

Good games tonight :D

Kieran_Burns 31 May 2006 03:33 PM

Almost was for me... after I completely re-installed everything to get the blasted thing working :(

doug2507 31 May 2006 04:09 PM

Could you post the IP address again for teamspeak please Kieran..?? Headset arrived today so i'll be giving it a try out today. Do i need to connect through teamspeak or is it automatically enabled on the server's??

You have a PM from me about this.

Kieran_Burns 31 May 2006 08:29 PM

Thanks Dr E - didn't get chance to sort this earlier

DrEvil 01 June 2006 10:53 AM

Nuts - the SNAFU site is now blocked from work, won't be long til this one is too. It annoys me considering the hours I spend here due to problems kicking off late in the day.... ho hum...

Anyhow - probably BF2 SF tonight.

Kieran_Burns 01 June 2006 10:55 AM

I'll try to make it tonight - actually got thanked for doing a good commander job last night :D

(and cursed for uncannily accurate Arty fire!!! :D :D :D)
