Where's Dooda to defend his side of the story........very quiet from him since truth came out.

I for one took the sale at face value, had me fooled......

stevie1982 05 February 2012 08:02 PM

He has said his piece in the general section and like most times there is two sides to every story. The fact of the matter is maybe 2/3 people know what the full ins and outs are and people jumping on board will not help the two parties sort this out. Guys I suggest everyone stays out of it and leave it to them to sort out as I can see it getting out of hand and with some of the comments made I can see the seller not coming on here which will not help the buyer to get this resolved. Also for whatever has or is going on making threats etc is not on guys possibility is there are wife's n kids at home that don't need to be worrying that a group of lads will be turning up at the front door. To the seller it really does not look good from this side of the coin but I would recommend speaking to the buyer via email so its all on record as there's is no proof what may or may not of been said over the phone. That aslso goes for the buyer as you will need it written as proof not he said a,b, c on the phone. Guys I sincerely hope u get this sorted outside of legal crap as no one needs the added stress in life. Maybe try to agree on a middle ground as clearly you both think u have been wrongly done or accused. Maybe for example meet in the middle the seller returns half the money? Would help cover the engine work etc just a thought

Then decides that it was not such a good deal and got what he payed for.

So now wants it to be a deal that he feels like he came out on top of.

Its a highly modified car with a used engine, that by all accounts has been spanked good and propper by all of it's various owners.

Not too sure what people expect to get when buying a car like this.

All this keyboard warrior stuff makes me laugh, it's so easy to type but action is a different matter.

Now i'm not slating anyone, as all this he said she said stuff is very difficult to prove or disprove, and in these situations people tend to remember things differently and from their own perspective, and exhibit selective hearing along with a certain amount of memory loss.

Now the lesson to be learned here is as always, if it looks too good to be true then chances are it probably is.

As for the repair to the engine and the subsiquent posts from FB and doda again who knows, but i will say something is not quite right on either side.

And before people comment on my post i suggest you read the whole thread from an unbiased view as i have done.

And my keyboard warrior statement is, if you buy something off me and are happy when you leave but at a later date try and tell me i have done you for whatever reason.

Then i wish you all the best.

Check and double check. *BEFORE YOU LEAVE.

As mistakes will not be rectified after you leave the premisis.

Sound familar.:thumb:

Why knowingly sell a broken car, desperate times but you knew the score ;)

N_Scooby 06 February 2012 11:09 AM

Unfortunately Dooda ones persons view is not the be all and end all.

The view of the engineers that took a look at your engine and advised you that it needed a re-build is a far more accurate view. The fact the engine has not let go yet is down to sheer luck.

In your advertisment you said the only bad point was the gearbox, no mention of the poor internals of the engine.

I would agree that if the engine had never been apart and the internals were a unknown factor then there should be no comeback on the seller. We all take a chance with secondhand car sales BUT as the seller had employed someone to open the engine to take a look at it and after consultation employed them to put it back together again so the car could be used, as it was a daily driver, with a re-build going to happen in the future as funds allowed, then the seller knew the condition of the engine and deliberately hid this fact from potential buyers. This is mis-representation and false advertising.

From what I can gather Dooda has promised to do the decent thing and refund £1000 towards the cost of a re-build. If he keeps to his word then this should be the end of it. It was a mistake he made but should be forgiven and his name cleared.

Someone said the buy was a business venture?? Balls! Jay was gutted when he spoke to fb ! He brought the car and was/ is looking forward to using it!! I did look at with him but unfortunately my X-ray specs and crystal ball battery's were flat!! It sounded ok, but that obviously means nothing! Couldn't drive on boost as still wanted to get home without doing anymore damage to the box!!! so couldn't tell if there was underlying problems within the engine under load!

Repair box and run it under load,

New_scooby_04 06 February 2012 11:28 AM

Guys, Jay has contacted the mods and informed us that a resolution to this issue is in prospect and asked that nothing that might compromise the outcome occurs on the board. Everyone has had a chance to have a say. The only two people that can sort this now are Jay and Dooda. Having the SN firing squad going off in the background whilst these two sort out the situation is not going to help.

I'm sure Jay will post another thread when the matter is sorted to keep the board up to date!
