Hi,

arrived today our new VF34 beater, ( hopefully ) :thumb:

This is a direct fit turbo designed to beat the 340bhp bracket usually dominated by the VF34 :D

Fitting today, testing tomorrow this direct fit turbo should beat the VF34 considerably with no loss of spool, we hope to see 370bhp approx from a standard 2.0ltr car, somthing like a P1

Keep you posted.

cheers
Kev

no thats was aimed at kev lol

The Gaffer 20 November 2009 02:44 PM

Hi,

the 340 bhp to 380 bhp area has allways been a bit of a grey area, we have the 18 and 20G stuff, but not everyone wants to spend that sort of money, and the results seem a little inconsistant.

The turbo we have just got back for testing is a direct fit VF34 sized turbo with a differant core, we are a tad behind on testing due to work comitments, but are aiming to get it done asap :thumb:

Hope its better than last time we tested it :brickwall

Keep you posted whatever the result :D

cheers

Kev, I just happen to have the ideal test vehicle for the GT33 Billet and I am sure we would significantly add to the considerable data you have already accumulated on both road and funny fuel but on a 2 litre application. Forged pistons, steel rods, the works and full instrumentation so we know what is going on.
Let me know when the first turbo will be in the UK.

Hi,
simply bolted on the P1 test mule, power went from 302 BHP up to 320 BHP, a nice gain with more to come, it certainly shows potential with no loss of spool at all above the stock VF28 :thumb:

Its the gain thats important not the numbers :D

More testing to come on Monday.

cheers

quick one for you guys il be looking for a turbo in the new year that is suited to a 2.1 stroker my aim is 500+ but needs to be as responsive as possible as the car will be used for hill climbs and sprints but dont want to go rotated thanks dave

Pavlo 01 December 2009 11:53 AM

If it's the HTA68 in a td05 housing, I've made 366hp on a 2.0 wrx using 95 RON fuel and water/meth injection, so I would expect similar results with plain V-power and no WI. It made 316hp with no WI on plain 95 RON fuel (at slightly less boost because the 95RON didn't like more boost)

Hi Paul,

its a similar turbo to the FP HTA68 using a TD05 housing with an 18G wheel shoehorned in there, its made to our specs by blouch not FP.

first tests on a P1 that has never made good power, probably the wrong test mule, has shown potential. :thumb:

Spool seems very good, much better than a TD05/6 18G.

Using a standard compressor housing will keep costs down :)

We are aiming for a turbo that will bolt directly in place, give better power than the VF 34 and cost less, around £799.00 + vat

Exhaust on the P1 swapped out, tests to continue, early results show potential, once it is signed off as good to go we will start work on the billet version, that should be interesting.:D

cheers
Kev

Hi,
trust me I am on the case :thumb:

News on the P1 test mule fitted with the new SC 36, now mapped it gave us a nice 336.6bhp and 310ftlb's of torque on V power :D.

Will post graph up as soon as my fisted computer gets sorted, virus by e mail  .

Cheers
Kev

Tidgy 14 December 2009 05:31 PM

doh, sorry to hear about the virus kev.

what else has beef done to his car by the way? also whats the spool like?

The Gaffer 15 December 2009 09:38 AM

Hi,

at the risk of joining the "bump" club :D, in answer to your question on spool, its actually better as you can see from the last graph I posted, nothing has changed only a new panel filter and a map tweak :thumb: and remember they spool even better on the road, owner states around 3000 / 3300 rpm :)

Lets also point out that this test has been carried out on a P1 that has never made good power, it has no other mods only exhaust, air filter and fuel pump, all done on "V" power

Shall we try a 10% meth mix :norty:

Cheers
Kev
