Even at 21 it will be stupidly expensive with no ncb. My mates 21 and he got a quote on my STI blob PPP and he has 1 yncb and was about 2800 cheapest and thats on a RAF base in scotland!

I'm currently in the process of researching insurance. I'm 21, 3 years driving, no NCB (Always been a named driver) and looking at insurance on a standard blobeye WRX turbo. Job listed as Computer Engineer, fully comp, WR9 postcode, £1030 with £500 excess and 8k milage. Not too bad but could be better!

Trust me, it won't. That's an astounding price given your age and lack of experience/NCB.

Is that price quoted for you on your own policy, car in your name, main driver etc? I.e. Legit?

Yeah, it's all legit, policy and car in my name with me as the main driver. I'll phone them up soon and see if they still quote me the same price (if not cheaper) on the phone, I'm half expecting them to reject it to be honest.
My friend is with Admiral with an 08 Focus ST (221bhp) and he pays £800 with a few points and claiming insurance a few months back. Sometimes it seems pot luck!

Who is that with, if you don't mind me asking ? because i'm in almost the same position as you, 21, 3 yrs driving, 1 yr NCD, and still getting quotes of about £7k on a WRX

I'm also interested aswell, when I was insuring my sti only admiral, elephant, bell and Adrian flux would insure me! They all quoted around 1k-3k which at 21 I expected :)

Hey guys, sorry for slow reply. The quote with Admiral. I've just tried again to confirm it still;
21yrs old, 3 years driving experience, single marital status, WR9 postcode, 10,000 miles and £500 excess, 55 reg WRX Turbo valued at £5000, it's £960. The reason it might be cheaper is because that is a '10 month bonus' policy, but they count it as your first year. Normal 12 months is £1096. I'd post up a screen shot but I don't think I have enough posts to link!

Not sure if you get notified but I've replied to your post above. :)

Thanks mate, I tried admiral and still can't get any cheaper than £3k :( . You got a brilliant price ! My dad might get a 06 STi and I'll probably be a named driver on it.

Been doing some experimental quotes myself. Interestingly, I can't get insured on an STI with PPP but I can get insured on the 'special editions' with PPP or better from factory.

I'm 21, in LU postcode. 3 years NCB, 3 years driving experience. 03-05 STI's I can insure for around £1,050 with estimated mileage at 10,000.

I decided to push my luck and try a few more. I rang them and they told me they would not quote for an STI with PPP.

I then tried a WR1, this came out at £950 with the same details. I tried a JDM Blob and that came out at £1,300.. and an RB320 hit rock bottom at £850. All with Admiral/Bell/Elephant (Roughly the same prices)

All with Exhaust modification declared too.

Thought it was interesting and cheap. Now just to find that STI..

im 29 with 4 yrs ncb and just renewed at £704 with admiral on an 09 plate sti hatch, there was a lad on here from scotland, 21 yrs old and paying less than me.... have a look at the hatch's thread, he commented on there.
