Could do with tracking mine quiclky again just to get the steering wheel straight, (driving me nuts)

Then i need to pick peoples brains about an abs fault:cry:

Basically it doesnt work, and found out that the tw@ i bought it off removed the warning bulb, hence why i didnt find it until weekend before last:nono:

steve ex vauxhall 19 March 2012 08:08 PM

Tom WRX RA 19 March 2012 09:50 PM

Tuesday the 27th Steve! Everything should be ok might have to throw an extra quid in

steve ex vauxhall 20 March 2012 10:59 AM

Cool, thanks Tom:thumb:

No Problem with a couple of quid extra,

See you all there!:)

Scooby Jo 20 March 2012 08:07 PM

Tom, think I might have a wheel bearing problem - is this something that can be done in 2 hours with a novice (me)! Also, am I best doing both front one's at same time? Think my brakes might have to wait :(

I know I can't comment for the college but wheel bearings are pish with the right set of tools an press, provided there's no under lying major problems and the college has all the tools to cater then it could be done in half the time if not less. ;)

Tom WRX RA 20 March 2012 08:59 PM

Ill ask Mike tommorow Jo and repost. He will have a better idea of whats involved. :thumb:

Scooby Jo 21 March 2012 12:16 AM

Thanks guys :)

Tom WRX RA 21 March 2012 01:51 PM

Hi Jo, Mike says we could run into problems if they havent been changed before, we have the press to do them It would just be the time factor if we got stuck on something. Maybe you can pursuade him though on the night

Tom WRX RA 21 March 2012 03:45 PM

Is it definatly the bearing Jo?

Scooby Jo 21 March 2012 11:27 PM

Think so as it sounds the same as it did on my last scoob when it went. However, I dont want to cause a problem on the night so I'll just get the tracking done and if someone could have a look at the wheel bearing and confirm, then I'll get it done :thumb: Will be good (or maybe not) to get it on the ramps and see if there's anything else needing to be done :wonder:

jay240188 25 March 2012 08:11 PM

I am definetaly up for this going to be following steve ex vauxhall down.

I am getting a noise as well which i am hoping to check over on the night, really hoping it is the bearing to be honest as they aren't expensive haha! :brickwall

Tom WRX RA 26 March 2012 07:30 PM

Great Jay yeah Im sure we can check that out!

So everyone is ok for tommorow then?
sounds like its going to be a busy night :) So if we meet in the car park again, we wil have to go in, sign in, and pay at the front desk.

Got myself and two other lecturers on hand to help, also got my valeting stuff in if anyone wants to do their cars, polishing indoors is so much better than outside!

Looking forward to it now, see you all tomorow

jay240188 26 March 2012 10:33 PM

Scooby Jo 26 March 2012 10:58 PM

Cheers for tonight Tom:thumb:

Sorry I hogged a space all night, tight nuts aren't always a good thing :lol1:

Saw a lovely P1 on the way home, think he was after a race - like I'd win that one :nono: I didn't try anyway, it would have been just my luck to find a copper round the corner:Suspiciou

Tom WRX RA 27 March 2012 10:07 PM

Your welcome Jo, Was a fantastic night beyond my expectations, and that 911 turbo! Goin for a ride in that was kenny's birthday and christmas present rolled into one I think. Im gonna post up the pictures soon I have 3 hours worth of marking to do for tommorow so better do that now

A couple of things though:

I think we need to start earlier say 5.15 or something for those that can make it as tracking lift was in high demand and I really want people to fell that they are getting value from the sessions

We need to sort out a better system for the monies, we where 7 quid up tonight which is great but a bit difficult to work out who is coming/paying etc.

But a great night big thanks to all who came :notworthy

steve ex vauxhall 16 April 2012 07:00 PM

Are we having another one this month Tom?
Tracking still needs doing:thumb:
And i'm now working permanent days in Bromborough, so only round the corner:norty:

Tom WRX RA 16 April 2012 08:38 PM

Yeah we could do Steve easter break has messed things up a bit but if not at the end of the month at the beginning of next? If people want to do it, get your name down and what you want to do and I will sort a date out

steve ex vauxhall 16 April 2012 08:40 PM

steve75 22 April 2012 09:39 PM

Scooby Jo 23 April 2012 07:15 PM

Sorry Tom, will be giving it a miss - not sure what happened with the tracking but my front left tyre is now bald and I'll have to replace it

Gonna stick with my normal mechanic from now on :thumb:

Tom WRX RA 23 April 2012 09:58 PM

Thats awefull Jo! realy sorry!

Mike spent ages doing it too  How has the handling been? bad?

I dont blame you, if that had happened to me I wouldnt want to go go back either

Scooby Jo 23 April 2012 10:27 PM

Not your fault Tom, no need to apologise:thumb:

Obviously something is wrong so I spoke to my usual mechanic last week and it's going in for a health check :) Handling is ok but sometimes weird feedback through the wheel - he'll get to the bottom of it but that tyre is really bad, just dont want to replace it til I get it fixed :(

Wouldnt mind but finally found wheel centre caps too!!
