Going on the amount of "they broke into my house (through my open door) and stole the keys (in plain view on the kitchen side) to the scooby that was parked on the drive" type threads i'd have thought knowing that these people are actively targeting this area so there would be an above normal risk would be worth knowing.

Yes plod could be more bothered - have better detection etc but to be honest as owners it is up to us to do as much as possible not to get the thing nicked in the first place.

Shark Man 31 January 2007 03:39 PM

I'd have to honestly say, if anyone bought an Impreza thinking that it is not at risk and not knowing that its been a targeted vehicle for over 10years then they need slapping with a wet kipper, for being so nieve.

They were a target car 10years ago, they still are now.

Nothing has changed.

Then claims to be a pig! And a stropy, thick one at that. Wouldn't like to be in any sort of difficult situation with him. Fairly indicative of the state or our police force these days and the type of wank*rs that become filth. Not very professional at all. :iamwithst

Should be out catching the real criminals not warning us about them on SNet or just harassing innocent motorists. Tosser.

Prick!

Dazza01 31 January 2007 09:45 PM

J_sca001

any chance you can give me the reg number of the unmarked Evo the boys in blue are using in Derby ? Ive yet to encounter him, but ive heard he's into goading people into racing then when he looses he then hits the lights and sirens
not the best way to go around making friends

I have an Evo and a Transit which is probably even worse ??

hmmm, i was stopped by the police just outside chipping campden around the last week of january. they made an effort to follow me and pull me up, checked who i was and then told me that i should make sure my car was out of site etc for a week or 2 as there had been a lot of scoobie thefts in the area. asked about any other cars i knew about etc. scary

Nice attention to detail J_sca001. Good to see you took the time to get the details right before verbally lashing out. I hope you pay more attention to details/facts when you do your Police work?!

I think you've had a hard time on this thread but you are definitely not helping yourself.

If you really are a Police officer then all I can do is shake my head in exasperated wonder at you (as I suspect a number of others are too) :(

Just read this thread, how sad some people are.

Someone warns you that there is a current specific hotspot for autocrime involving imprezas and all you can do is take the pi55.

Just so you know I am also plod, but I drive unmarked evos for a living. I'm so glad that some of you forgot to blur you reg plates in the 'my scooby' section. Watch your rear view mirrors. Closely.

Can't wait for the obvious comments that will be posted next. It seems that a decent site is quicky being spoiled by a small minority.

And you arent adding Fuel to the Fire:rolleyes:
<-------- My number plate is here;)

Molds 16 February 2007 06:35 PM

I can understand you wanting to stick up for a fellow Police man mcw but I really hope you can see how some of the sour posting has come about?

Actually you are likely just as bad if your comment (threat) re number plates is anything to judge you by. Are you implying that given the chance you will be abusing your position to exact some kind of "get you back" for the sake of some sour Forum posts? TBH that wouldn't surprise me and in fact is perfectly in line with the attitude of every Police man I have ever met.

Note: That's the ones I have met. I am sure there must be some decent ones...

Yep Read it though;)

Molds 16 February 2007 06:39 PM

lol, nice one FMS :D

mcw 16 February 2007 06:40 PM

The watch you mirror post was 100% joke only. If anything I get hassle from work colleagues for not stopping scoobies, and if I do stop them I just end up talking about cars and end up not issuing tickets etc.

There are some good coppers out there who like nothing more than catching scumbag twocers.

One thing to remember. If you drive it like its nicked, you will be stopped like its nicked. It's our job.

fatmanscooby 16 February 2007 06:42 PM

At last a sensible post. Im off now if youre all getting sensible.

Molds 16 February 2007 06:44 PM

Fair enough comment mcw :thumb:

Lol at FMS :)

johnnyroper 16 February 2007 06:49 PM

well done coffin dodger could not have put it better myself:notworthy

if my scoob did get nicked do you think i would see a copper?i think not too busy pulling people over for no seabelt or something else equally as petty
try catching real crims i say:thumb:

mcw 16 February 2007 06:53 PM

There you go, slagging us off again.

johnnyroper 16 February 2007 06:57 PM

i agree there maybe some good coppers about but i personally not come across any just jobsworths out to sting the motorist but when you do need one they are too busy?

mcw 16 February 2007 07:13 PM

We work to priorities mate. What do you want us to go to. A stolen car where no-one saw the offenders and had no idea of the direction of travel, or a domestic where a 3 month baby has been thrown accross the room ?

Harsh example I know, but it does paint the picture.

Also, if your car gets nicked and you can't tell us any more than exactly that, then what point is there in coming to your house ? The details are circulated over the radio and the on board anpr screens are automatically updated in case we pass your car. All nearby cctv cameras would also alert us to your car passing them.

So do you want us at your house, condoling (if thats a word !?!) you, or do you want us out and about looking for your pride and joy ?

Elmer Fudpucker 16 February 2007 07:19 PM

I'd call Interflora before I dialled 999 for all the good it would do:D

I have no time for the Police at all, sorry:(
