Sounds like the place - the time I was there we nipped up and down the Old Man on the Sunday morning with sore heads http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

You walk across a couple of fields into Coniston.

Right, I'm off to trawl through Auto Trader looking at Scoobies http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Hello,

I go on holiday for a week and come back to MY extracting the urine.

Decent driver eh?

I wasn't the one in the wrong field at the campsite http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Looking forward to it.

Phil.

P.s. I'll be up for some recce if it hasn't been completed yet.

Dream Weaver 10 June 2001 09:47 PM

Chris

Just been in the lakes for the last 4 days, and managed to fit in a recce of local campsites. Found a decent one on the road between Bowness and Newby Bridge. It has bar, nice pitches, Electricity etc etc.

It is called Park Cliffe or Cliffe Park - cant remember http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/confused.gif Looks like the perfect site for our camping frolicks - if you need more info send us a mail.

Cheers

Yeah, I know the one, quite a sharp turn back on yourself if your coming back from Bowness, up the hill and to the right, been there and it looks good.

Just spotted this thread...if the trip involves large quantities of beer...long sleeps...fried breakie....big hangovers...and then a taxi home...count me in...

...if its a drive in the hills...over hump back bridges and round long easy rights or lefts...count me in...

...if it involves little bits of the above....then, yup, count me in....

roll on the summer!!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Starting point is going to be Preston, at a place beside the M6 motorway which will take us on some brill B roads up towards S.Lakes to end up Lakeside ! Following day will see us "mountaineering" various "scary" roads back towards Clitheroe ending in a welcoming hostelry to sample their wares and the British Grand Prix !

boomer 13 June 2001 09:05 PM

Clitheroe hey?

can't say that i have ever heard of the place http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

OK peeps, 1st day now sorted.
Meeting point will be around jnc 31 of the M6 with exact details nearer the time. 1st day will be a mixture of A roads (for the cooling down of ones brakes etc...) and some unbelievable B roads, humps (take offs), forest routes, men out from the boys routes, scenic etc... all in all bl**dy damned good !Start will be 10.00am for a 10.30am start.I have several stopping points for catch up's etc...and have sourced and booked lunch at an idylic pub with brill facilites and parking. Campsite is booked and the site has a bar, restaurant etc..and they will be roping off a section just for us. Garages selling SUL have been routed so no worries there. 2nd day being reccied next weekend. Now I need you all to start CONFIRMING your attendance due to the Pub lunch, campsite etc...Could you please let me know over the next week your firm details.
Regards

BOB.T 17 June 2001 10:36 PM

Hi guys,

I won't be able to go unfortunately, our kid is getting married on the saturday and I plan to get mainly drunk! I might be able to make the second day but I think it's unlikely, I am interested in meeting at the finish for the pub, beer and GP. It would be ideal for me, if a little selfish if the finish was nearer Skipton!

Bob
