However, it stayed firm even if I drove less ferociously ;) The soundtrack is pretty cool too ............... :) The sounds coming from inside the cabin so as to avoid excessive wind noise. that is true i mentioned taht early in the thread , it was mention in autocar or something like that , sounds like it will be a cracking car i hope they dont still keep it fwd otherwise it will have even worse traction problems.

Why do you compare to engines of given torque and equal power, yet forget the gearing?
A shorter gear ratio will place the engine operating nearer to RPMs where it is making power. The 60 lb/ft deficit just isn't a problem anymore, maximum performance will be similar, but flexibility will be in the more torquey engine's favour. Another thing turbo owners argue is the torque advantage of turbo cars. The problem is, expecially with small 2 litre engines and 1200+ kg of weight is you need to build boost to make that torque. A turbo engine may tout 270 lbs/ft of torque at 3500 RPM, but it probably makes only 90 lbs ft of torque at 1500 RPM, 110 lbs/ft at 2000 RPM at WOT. The natural aspirated Honda F20C from the S2000 may make LESS peak torque, but it makes MORE torque in the RPM's that a turbocar doesn't have any usable boost. |
