This looks awesome now! It's making me feel bad for neglecting mine ( identical to yours apart from wheels and loads of muck, scratches and little bits and bobs which need fettling ) Keep up the good work Mick |
Looking lovely mate, a nice set of defis in an ati pod would finish off the interior nicely.

Nice and Clean :)

That's some nice attention to details mate. Liking this project. :thumb:
Keep em coming. :D |

You have a JDM aswell mate? Supposed to be a cracking weekend, perfect for a spot of cleaning ;):thumb: Mick |
Cheers again guys!
Got a couple more bits today.... Set of McGuard locking wheel nuts (not cheap but well worth it.) unfortunately the wheel nut recess on the pro races don't allow access for the standard subaru locking nuts, so I had to change! Pair of front pioneer TS-G1322I speakers, plus the adapters. I'm sure your all aware of how poor the standard speakers are in subarus. I'm not after anything mega high-end, but any improvement on the standard setup has got to be good. Will have full pics of the fitting tomorrow for anyone that's thinking of upgrading and is after a 'how to' type guide!! http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/b...ps6ae414a9.jpg |
Hi mate. I have a jdm sti and have the same problem with the stereo losing signal. Which wires did you join. Also what size are your wheels and what et are they. Thanks
|
Loving the OCD attention to detail! Threads like this are great as they deal with simpler aspects of modifying that we can undertake at home.

Hey guys,
Got a long weekend off work and its been a beautiful day so I cracked on with a few bits. Main one was getting the new speakers in. Door cards were extremely easy to remove, just a couple of easily accessible screws and then prise the doorcard off. fitting the speakers was a Pretty simple job but I had to drill the adapters for them to fit. Once I had drilled the holes, I realised that bolting them on would be a bit of an issue as the new holes were very close to the wall of the adapter. http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/b...ps23334a1f.jpg http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/b...ps384db46d.jpg Once the bolt had gone through the door and then through the new hole, it was impossible to turn the nut because of the clearance issue. So, the solution was to place the nut over the hole, and then screw the bolt from the inside of the door panel outwards. The end result..... http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/b...ps08d24576.jpg http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/b...psc5e06d63.jpg I also done a few menial jobs. Big meet tomorrow night for the ESOC. The scoob will be lined up facing evos, so its gotta look its best lol!!! Took the wheels off and gave the inside a once over! http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/b...ps662cd048.jpg Also cleaned the inside. Tomorrow will be spent cleaning the car. I have been recommended 'Mer' products by a few folk now, so purchased some today. Anyone used it before? By the way, I haven't got a thumb missing, it's just the angle of the photo lol!! http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/b...psa553a50f.jpg |
Have a good one tomorrow night. Don't forget some pictures of the event. :)
By the way, any pictures of the original speakers? There was no way to fit the uprated speakers to the original adaptors? If there were any adaptors in the first place? :wonder: |
Hey folks, been pretty busy at work over the last few months so haven't had much done to the scoob, however, I've recently added a few small bits and had the car lowered. There's a pic below that I took quickly today, but the car will be getting properly cleaned tomorrow. Here's what's been done......
Richbrook black 6-speed gearknob (very OEM looking. Pics to follow) Black wheel nuts (the chrome ones didn't look right) Finally had it lowered! I think the car sits perfectly and it hasn't ruined the ride! http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/b...psdb7cff9a.jpg |
Very very clean!
Are you happy with the speakers? I looked at those but my bugeye has tweeters near the door handles so I was thinking of getting something to replace those along with larger 16.5cm speakers. |
Speakers made a world of difference in quality mate (although that's not difficult when comparing them to the standard items!). Would deffo recommend them to anyone, plus they weren't too expensive either.
|
I have same speakers too and they are loads better than standard and not too expensive, on another note I thought after the bugs jdms weren't forged? Looks really good mate I'm going to up my game on the cleaning front!
