Decided to look into using the OEM oil pump. Following some advice from Mr Felsted I decided to go for it. Stripped it down, checked all clearances and polished the Pressure release valve plunger. I've tidied the casing up and reassembled it all. Popped a new seal in and it's good to go.

I have now finished the short motor build.
The sump is red in the flesh not day glow orange as the pictures suggest. http://www.650bhp.co.uk/images/engin...mbly/sump1.jpg http://www.650bhp.co.uk/images/engin...mbly/sump2.jpg http://www.650bhp.co.uk/images/engin...mbly/sump3.jpg http://www.650bhp.co.uk/images/engin...mbly/sump4.jpg http://www.650bhp.co.uk/images/engin...mbly/sump5.jpg http://www.650bhp.co.uk/images/engin...mbly/sump6.jpg Heads Next!! |
Your doing a cracking job mate looks great so far.

Did you add any additional baffles / baffle plates to the sump?
|
No, its the twin scroll sump which is a better shape than the original shaped sump.
However I'll monitor oil pressure and change the sump if need be. This is and only ever will be a road car though so no real need for a full group N baffelled set up just yet. |
Looking awesome Daz,really like the Red sump:thumb:
