James, yours is an unusual decision to me mate.
You went from a 550+ jap 4wd turbo saloon to a 400 jap 4wd turbo saloon.
Personally I can't see why, but obviously you had a good enough reason.

What was your reasoning and do you regret any part of your decision?

I lost the fun on the back roads in the Scoob as it was just to powerful for the little roads around me in Surrey, Infact it tried to kill me a few times :D

As the Evo MR is perfect for back road blasts, full boost at 2'500rpm and grips like **** to a blanket

If I drove around town or did a lot of motorway cruising without a doubt there would be a M3 or RS4/6 on my drive now

Bike engined Mini, or even twin bike engined Mini from the likes of Z Cars.

Westfield or any seven.

E30 M3 or any supercharged M3

911 turbo (has to be a 993 for me though)

TVR Griffith 500

There's sooooo many choices. It really depends if you want fast and handles well or just an entertaining drive - I've a 1960's short wheel base beach buggy and it's just such fun, not fast, just fun.

Why not keep yours and scratch the itch with an cheap seven. Good handling, quick enough, raw, a drivers car if ever there was one.

Good luck with what you decide upon.

I had a 1450 hole shot racing dax rush hyabusa engine it was only 210bhp but it was f-----g scary my mates got a lotus excige with a Honda type R surcharged now thats is FFF fun fast frightening 360bhp in a rear wheel drive car weighing only 650 kg but I cash wasn't an option I'd have a Ferrari 458 gt3 google it its pure sex the guy I work for has just brought one :thumb:

I still can't wait to drive my 500-600 bhp type r but I'm a long long way off

If I had the cash an original , then a recreation based on a 3.2/3.4
Or start a new project and build your own
Either way IMO a timeless classic and proper drivers car

Dont buy a ferrari, you cant leave them anywhere, had 2 of them and they are a pain in the arse

rickya 10 December 2012 11:33 PM

These can be had for approx £27k with performance pack, which on a pre' 2009 inc better LSD and better suspension. A remap easily sees 530 bhp. ......and they sound like the car that Zeuss himself would roll in...

Amazing "go fast" tool that's in exactly the same category as what I have now but I dare say even more soulless lol

It is very soulless. My friend has had one since launch and he says it feels very clinical. The car pretty much drives itself, like KIT from Knightrider!

He said that he enjoyed driving his EVO's and Scoobs much more!

Brun 11 December 2012 01:01 AM

Best suggestion i've seen on this thread is the Noble :D

A customer of ours hasn't found what you're looking for !
He had us build him a 700bhp Hawkeye, fantastic car till it had a coming together with a kerb. He's been trying to settle in a car ever since.
He's had, GTR 35, Porsche 996 Turbo, Audi R8, Brand new Range Rover x 2, Ferrari 360, Mercedes CL63 and a 500bhp 2.2 Evo.
Out of all of them the R8 was probably my favourite, such a pretty car and a fantastic sound track.

I think you need to think exactly why you feel you need to change. You have an extremely fast car and your thinking of going to something slower as most of these suggestions will be so. Is it badge snobbery or a genuine change needed?

Buy a cheap e36 M3 and spec your car up to do hillclimbs or sprints I reckon!

ditchmyster 11 December 2012 08:17 AM

I think your bored because you have too much power.:lol1:

AC cobra or a dax cobra, my neighbour had the latter with a race tuned jag v12 engine 6 sets of carbs and side exit exhaust, plenty of soul, he sold it for £13k and bought a boxter, because he can't drive and has no mechanical ability, both of which you need if your going to own something like that.

You need to tell us your budget too, if i had the money i'd try the porker but a 3.2 rs in white, one of the only cars i wish i had scraped together £12k to buy a few years ago when i installed a tracker and alarm on it for a guy who was about to sell, what a mistake that was for both of us.:(

MadUsa1 11 December 2012 10:55 AM

Don't sell the Scooby, you will regret it no matter what you get next.

If you want a change of format go out and buy a cheap E36 M3. Wonderful 6 cylinder engine, RWD thrills, pretty cheap to buy and maintain.
