Erm ok thanks for getting back to me!

Anyways got the deal down to £575 but still why if you a good customer can't you have the best deal straight off.

Moley 20 May 2012 07:39 PM

I asked Fraser to have a look at the quote and see what he can do, so not sure exactly what the price was before and after.

Just had my renewal though from KM this year and its gone up..... By £4, dont think i should argue with that.

And theres me thinking that turning 30 would reduce my premium a little.

Scooby Dan 26 May 2012 05:10 PM

Mine went up by about £60 which was a little disappointing as I have a clean license and not made a claim for over 15 years . Find it really annoying when people keep coming on here saying that their premiums have gone down . Can't understand why mine should be increasing . Can only think that these people must have reached a special age or something . Anyway doesn't matter to me anymore as I sold my Scooby 2 days before renewal time .

ScoobLou 26 May 2012 08:52 PM

What really gets my goat is that if you are a loyal customer why not give you the best price come renewal time?

KM was lucky to get my custom this year.

Nearly went to A Plan!

Could it be that your area has suffered a lot of claims over the last 12months? Such as the Crash for Cash scams etc? That affects your premium.

I've been a customer with KM for 4 years now and have always been given the best price on renewal and I should be lucky Gary offers it to me given my f*%k ups with renewal dates (forgot one year and car was park in garage with no insurance, only found out when I tried to tax it before going away for a weekend).

I would suggest trying to get hold of Gary a couple of weeks before your renewal, that way you have plenty of time to get hold of him and, if possible, negotiate a price.

ScoobLou 26 May 2012 11:46 PM

RIGHT this also gets my goat.

Why the heck do you have to speak to Gary? If Frazer cant do his job properly and Subarus are not his thing he shouldn't be doing the job.

Also once you speak to someone else at KM your at not allowed to DEAL with anyone else.

It they are the same next year I will just take business elsewhere.

You don't HAVE to speak to Gary, but if you have a Subaru and you want the best deal then it's in your best interest to speak to him as he is the Subaru liaison/specialist broker, he knows who will and won't offer the best deal for Subaru's and their owners.

Now most people would see having one point of contact regarding something like insurance as a good thing  What gets my goat is having to chase around speaking to 6+ different people and having to explain the situation each time. Obviously KM have decided to take this on board and make it their policy that you speak to the first broker you speak with.

From experience other insurance companies can't even come close on renewal, this includes A-Plan etc and as previously posted about my mistake and the effort Gary made to make sure I was covered over the weekend when I went away, I was guaranteed my business from then on but I value great customer service.

A little patience goes a hell of a long way, once you're dealing with the right person, you'll be sorted :thumb:

You are missing my point. KM didn't not give me the best deal first time round so I had to make 6 or 7 phone calls in order to get KM to beat the others deals.

Anyway still think its odd that you need to speak to Gary to get the best deal, lets hope the red bus doesn't come along.

Insurance is still sales. Why would they sell you something for £10 if they could charge you £15 for the same product? They can always go lower on price if they need to, and still make a profit.

I realise that everyone wants the cheapest car insurance going but unless these places make money they'll go to the wall like everyone else. Profit is a dirty word, but we all need to make some.

carl heath 24 June 2012 11:49 AM

If km is making profit then what are the others making that want 1k more to insure same car !

Terminator X 24 June 2012 12:13 PM

Only a lunatic accepts a renewal quote without at least getting some check prices. As posted above all companies need to make some money, they just make a bit more from some customers than others. My dad used the same broker for 20yrs ffs!

TX.

I've just renewed my Insurance with Gary @ Keith Michael's. Sccobe has gone down slightly, due to less miles:)
Also got a really good quote for my second car too.

Thanks again Gary:thumb:

When I got insurance for mine, Gary wasn't available. The guy I did speak to quoted me about two grand LOL.

I went Greenlight who more than halved that.

If someone is quoting you £1000 more than the next cheapest alternative, what they're saying to you is;

We dont want your business, but if you're silly enough to pay this inflated premium, we'll take your money.
