aye tell me about it, ive been after one for me and 2 work mates without much luck
finally had 3 on Dabs a few days ago, said processing
then the other day it dropped my order to one...

they reckoned they basically had too many orders and the stock system had cocked up, so they dropped everyone down to one per order, have a dhl tracking code etc now which shows it coming tomorrow

annoys me the amount on ebay for 170quid plus when it only cost them 90quid in the first place.. more annoying are the amount of people paying it! if no one did the people on ebay might start trying for a few quid over cost rather than trying to double their money

one bloke on HUKD was showing off (or trolling) how he had 7, had sold 4 with one more to go with 3 for himself and family and had made over a grand already o.0

Where did you hear this then? There are none in our shop and it is showing ALL WebOS stuff as sold out.

acstua 26 August 2011 05:42 PM

I meant it was on the palm store, they said more info would be out this morning, but they updated last night to say they wont be getting any more
http://eurostore.palm.com/epages/Sto...egory=TouchPad

there are still rumours HP has some, but then theres just as many saying they havent any left for the UK :|

the thing is loads of stores just sent them back to HP so there must be a few floating about, and ive not seen any of the 32Gb ones released yet

the palm store says more info about the pre3 on the 31st

i keep checking the HP EPP store now and again, but hey ho :/
ive got mine now, im still after one for two mates
felt abit bad this morning getting mine and unboxing with them sat either side of me heh

I can only see the value in these if you can get android on them to be honest, but i suspect that the vast majority of people buying them would not have a clue and think they are just getting as bargain, a bargain that is now discontinued and will die a swift death ?

Give it a few months and i bet we see second hand ones going for £50 after people suss on.

An insider has given us details from an all-hands meeting HP just held with employees in the webOS Global Business Unit in light of today’s announcement that HP will no longer make webOS devices. In the meeting, webOS GBU VP Stephen DeWitt made it clear that HP intends to continue to work on webOS and likely intends to license it. DeWitt was adamant, saying several times “We are not walking away from webOS.” He detailed a plan to try to determine what the platform’s future will look like within the next two weeks, although he admitted that “Clearly, we don’t have all the answers today.”

from what i heard you HP peeps didnt exactly get alot of notice about them going cheap either, if you hear anything about more stock coming give us a poke :D

If they get Honeycomb working on this then the hardware seems pretty decent spec to make use of it and be a bargain compared to other Honeycomb devices.

I've got my Ipad so happy with that but would have been interested in one as a toy if easily available for purchase and Honeycomb was already confirmed as 'do-able'.

I'm kicking myself picked mine up thursday and I had access to five via staff purchase and I only brought one. Had I have know about the frenzy I would have brought all five as everyone had an allocation of five.

Cool, I was after one too, but couldn't find one.

Where did you bring yours from?

Correct! we had no notice, normally we get an email warning from the shop saying they are putting stuff on offer and normally stuff is limited to 2 devices per employee. This time someone found it by looking and then everything went haywire. The server was down by mid afternoon.

Can't see HP releasing anymore but you never know.

You cant get the on the high street or online selling to fast.

I work for distributor who buys them off HP and sells them to pc world comet argos etc. Stock has now gone and doubt it will return.

DJ Dunk 29 August 2011 04:56 PM

I bagged a 16Gb from John Lewis online on Saturday lunchtime. Cheap for a tablet to play around with.

You jammy sod ;)

I have been quietly checking (load of) Argos, Comet, PC World etc - all coming up blank :(

Did they (JL) say what the stock/warehouse levels/distribution were?

Just noticed that you said "online" - but nowt to be had ATM :( :(

I was actually considering buying one at full price, so the chance of nabbing one for less than ninety notes was wonderful. Oh HP, how you have screwed up - maybe the DEC marketing incompetence still exists

Must admit it was a bit jammy. I'd been watching the monster thread on HUKD and had no luck. Was busy getting ready for a wedding had a spare couple of minutes, just as I checked the forums a thread popped up saying that JL had stock. 6x 16Gb's left at the time I clicked! Now showing as despatched and have a tracking number :) Will suit me fine for web browsing on the sofa and expect WebOS to be sold off in the near future - so it's not the end of the line . . . else I'll go for Android once it's ported. With the sudden explosion of sales, community support will be pretty good.

If I find I use it a lot, I'll consider a move to the iPad later.
