I would take offence to someone thowing a half eaten burger or water bomb at me as agressive, it causes a bit of a shock, you feel like you have to react as really, most of the time you dont want someone elses saliva, ketchup or cold water thrown at you, it just suggests disrespect, you think I am so feeble and beneath contempt that it is amusing to throw half eaten food at me, jesus, if you dont think that is agressive, try it and see my reaction !

Thing is, most of the people who do that kind of trick do it from a moving car, I could sort of respect someone who did it face to face as it suggests a certain ammount of misguided self confidence or enough strength to back up anything I may offer up, but from a moving car, that is just sh1t house behaviour.

I did get chips and gravy rammed in my face outside a chippy once, as did my cousin, a mate from school saw what was happeneing and stopped his car and got punched for his trouble, my crime, having a nice Golf GTI when the four scrotes in the Mini didnt have one, they had a clapped out mini, if they hadnt caused the altercation then the Mini would have remained intact longer than 48 hours :D

I notice the M5 in question is parked ever day outside a local Kwik-fit.

Must be an employee or more likely owner?

Has a fancy private plate.

Just because you can't see the air pollution doesn't mean you're not guilty!

Do you think that littering is not important then?

Really it is disgusting. Walk around Manchester and peeps are spitting left right and center, often close to the feet of others.

I wonder sometimes if it is some primitive display of territory or dominance? Is it a coincidence these 'types' tend to have aggressive dogs?:lol1:

Yes I agree totally.

I think it must stem from the example we see from so many sporting "heroes" who spit quite unnecessarily while playing sport.

They probably think it makes them look more manly or something.

I 'just' work in a shop, yet manage to get through life without feeling the need to drop wrappers everywhere I go. And for the record, it annoys me when I see people do it, moreso when beside a bin!

I spend a fair chunk of my time at work picking up greggs wrappers, pop bottles etc. and scraping food and chewing gum off the floor and fixturing. The last thing I think of when I walk out is, I'll dump some litter because someone else will deal with it. I know only too well how it feels to be at the receiving end of such an attitude. And I'd bet plenty of other mere scummy shop/retail workers do too.

Call me oversensitive (and I know I am being a bit) but at times this place and the attitudes on it really piss me off.

Lisa can I have a large big mac meal with a coke please. :)

I'm only joking, your spot on too about the sh!t and attitudes of people on here at times. I'm sure I signed up as I own a Subaru and wanted to see what like minded people do with theres on here and get advice if I needed it about the car, don't need any on how to live my life, done fine before I bought the Subaru! ;)

I have a cat but it's not the point. It's not just about the environment from a purely objective view....littering is highly visible, it makes the place/country look bad and further feeds feelings of 'not caring less' etc.

Imagine someone spraying lewd graffiti on your car for example. It's not really doing much harm but it's gonna piss you off right?:lol1:

That's one view, but that is also my point littering pisses you off because you can see it and the air pollution most subaru/performance car owners contribute through their decats is alright because you can't physically see it?:cuckoo:

With litter it can be picked up, with air pollution the remedy isn't quite so easy.......

Anyway the pompous posters of SN are always great to laugh at......long may their misery continue :D

Well you are assuming that the objection to littering is one of physical pollution.

One could take the stance that it is an eye-sore, like say loads of wind farms on a mountain or field, or ugly buildings.

You can have noise pollution, so why not eye pollution?

Also litter is a health hazard and attracts vermin etc.

What a crappy comment
I worked in Netto. It was a job, I was doing an honest day's work, why would that automatically mean I was the kind of person who would litter?

And, if I thought 'the world owed me' then surely I would have just claimed dole and not bothered to work at all?

I'd rather be the kind of person who works in McDonalds or Primark than someone who looks down their nose at people based on where they work. No offence :hjtwofing

I'm sure if you go to McDonalds, they'll be able to sort that out for you. ;)

Sadly some people on here have such a high opinion of themselves they love to put out comments that belittle other people. No matter, if that makes them feel better, it says more about them than it does about me and other people not so privileged. :thumb:

Fair points I worded my post very badly, I worked in ASDA for 6 year, my g/f and my sister both worked in Primark and my best friend through Uni worked in McDonalds, my statement was not thought out.

I wasn't trying to suggest everyone who works in these places is like that and I'm not in a job from which I can look down my nose at anyone, far from it. I really didn't mean to cause offence.

I don't know how to explain what I mean .. I've spent a lot of time hanging around, when I worked nights, I had little else to do and I got to know some really great people and some tools. From my experience the people who don't care about things like littering, etc tend to work in jobs they hate and get paid very little. The three I have off the top of my head are Primark, McDonalds and Wetherspoons .. These people (that I have met) will think nothing of dropping **** on the floor, because they pay their taxes .. things like that ..

This isn't about education or back ground, quite a few of the people I have met have grown up in well to do families and complete University, I guess its a laziness more than anything.

Banana skins take an absolute age to degrade on the streets or in the country. Apples no problem, just chuck 'em in bush and all sorts of insects and birds will help finish them off. I have a friend who is a hill walker/mountain guide and he says peoples discarded banana skins just sit on the mountain sides for years and obviously the colder it is the longer they last. Not as bad as Lucozade bottles granted! ;)
