So if you want them now then its £350 OR If you want to formulate a list on here, then Im sure we can work on the price. Phil seems very reasonable so Im sure a further discount is avilable if bulk ordered. HTH Rob |

one guy on here has got a set currently running on a sti and said they are ok and cool worth every penny, did your mate have these fitted professionally ? and have them set up correctly, has the guy fitted himself and setup? what was the problems i am intrigued to see what the answers are and why he removed them and the problems he had, you might save me some cash etc.. which i think i speak for everyone on here who is looking to buy a set of coils Andie |

I have got abit more info now.. and I think it isn't so problem-ish really could be for some. I have been told the main problem with raceland coilovers, its that they are quite bouncy, the lower the car goes the bouncier it gets, and it gets quite squeaky at the same time...
|
Do you mean bouncy or just harsh - on the roads it will get worse the lower it is, and as the springs are compressed more by lowering it the shocks will be able to do less damping.

I think thats where the problems are coming from, These have seperate height adjustment and spring preload. The springs do come preloaded to a certain degree but the top nuts adjust up to tension/preload spring for stiffness. The hub carrier mounting adjusts to lower or raise ride height. If someone has incorrectly fitted them they will not operate correct at all, if they have lowerd using top nuts like common coilovers the spring will have no tension and will be able to bounce about. These need correct set up and are as stiff as you set them upto be. Hope this helps a little. :thumb: |
Ok so here is an update in general
I have only just got home from a very busy day (brew in hand, laptop open knee;)) There is a parcel at the door which I need to open but can wait until tommorow, however I contacted Phil (Raceland) whilst at work today and he supplied me with a tracking number, when I checked (I was not at home) it stated delivered..... 2 Days!!! So here is my Tracking... happy days Preston, United Kingdom 21/01/2011 15:53 Delivered 21/01/2011 5:30 Out for Delivery 21/01/2011 1:37 Arrival Scan Tamworth, United Kingdom 20/01/2011 23:27 Departure Scan 20/01/2011 12:39 Arrival Scan Barking, United Kingdom 20/01/2011 9:45 Departure Scan 20/01/2011 9:16 Arrival Scan Brussels, Belgium 20/01/2011 2:07 Departure Scan Brussels, Belgium 19/01/2011 21:38 Origin Scan Belgium 19/01/2011 8:41 Order Processed: Ready for UPS |
i had a set of these on a astra GSi turbo. they were alot less then 350, and even though they was stupidly hard, like bone shattering, they handled like a go kart!

Arrived
Hi Guys,
They have arrived, however I still have no car to put them on as its in the garage being worked on, however here is a few pics: http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/y...d/P1010074.jpg http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/y...P1010073-1.jpg Rob :thumb: |
Update:
Well I have had a little more time this afternoon to take a better look at them, and the first impression is the workmanship is sxcellent. My car is still with Brian at CAMS (top bloke btw), so as soon as I get it back I wll crack on with fitting them. Here is a few more pics in the meantime. Rob ;) http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/y...P/P1010004.jpg http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/y...P/P1010007.jpg http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/y...P/P1010005.jpg http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/y...P/P1010003.jpg http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/y...P/P1010008.jpg http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/y...P/P1010002.jpg http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/y...P/P1010001.jpg |

I went on to see it and have a chat with Brian on Saturday, things are looking up as the compressions come back spot on:thumb: Oh and I just happen to have a zorst in the boot of the car when I turned up for him :D. So the Completly Standard STI i recently bought, will soon be, fresh engine, Dare drift alloys with the old style Eagle F1's (the better F1's imo), full 3" decat, and these coilovers :lol1:. I still need a good 400bhp Turbo, but purse strings are tight at the moment :(. Rob PS I have replied to your PM. |

Really interesting,if w ill be OK,as promised Raceland, these coilovers will be killers at this price, because other markers of Coilovers are priced 2 times more. And about your upgrades, exhaust will be probably most visible with Dare Drift alloys(i like these, similar we are want go,but at moment no way) Turbo for 400bhp,you will need MD-321 or SC40-SC46,TD05-20G will make this power but with meth at least. Jura 400bhp or thereabouts tbh mate, as Dunx wisely said to me once, dont go chasing numbers, its how the car handles and feels that matters. Oh I have bought the Cusco H Brace of Eggy too, forgot to add to list, but havent had time to collect it with the long hours recently. So Whitelines will be the next job, then MD321 of some discription, but I need my finances sorting first lol. MD's seem to be the better power for money turbo's that usually have more scope than 400bhp, thus potential for the future :D. TBH I would be more than happy with a quick spooling 375bhp motor if I can source the right turbo without busting a gut or the bank. Rob |

Rob Thant's exactly what i want say before, don't try catch ghost, sometimes is not worth. Droplinks and other Whiteline stuff is great, but you can have look for CDF stuff, well priced as well. Jura |
great thread cant wait to see the out come as i will probally purchase a set soon too :thumb:
|
the proof will be when fitted and the life span of these do seem very cheap for a coilover but they may be great fairplay for trying them bud ,hope they are ok and live up to expectations
|
Update:
Nothing has currently changed, the coilovers are still in the original box, and my car is still in the garage being worked on. So for those of you that are interested in the outcome, and the feedback from these will just have to wait im afraid. Just as you, I also is very much looking forward to getting these on and getting them tested... :) Rob |
Have read the thread and am sure I haven't missed this - there's no mention of kits to fit classics is there? Have emailed the ebay geezer to see if there's any chance
