Whats your budget fella? My mate is selling a wrx sti prodrive on a 55 reg. About 40k, very well maintained, spent 000s on various engine mods and just had respray as a few chips appeared on bonnet. Running 440 bhp with printouts. Wants 11500 i think. If interested let me know and ill forward the details n pics etc.

ive found a 2005, jan06 reg'd STI
the 2.5l engine, in black, 25k miles on it
2 owners and in pretty good nick, although the alloys are a bit kerbed
can get 5k part ex on my car, and 12.5k for the motor total

test drove it and its day and night compared to the lemon i drove at the start of the thread!

hopefully dropping off a deposit saturday to secure the deal!

cheers for the details princey, kinda looking for a mint standard motor at the moment :)

Sounds good. Pretty much what I'll be looking for!

FSHistory? Warranty?

You could get the kerbed wheels powdercoated anthracite or met black, usu about £160 or so.

acstua 13 January 2011 07:59 PM

aye was thinkin of dropping the gold heh
FSH, no warranty as its a private sale
its the son of an owner of a car dealership, so he will potter about in my CTR for a few months till he finds what he wants, then flog mine on at dealership prices

whats USU? only had one quote from chipsaway (i know!) and it was stupid money

Just meant "usually". :)

Enjoy!

acstua 13 January 2011 09:32 PM

ah :) shall be sorting some quotes tomorrow for wheels
althought im at the end and past my budget buying this particular scoob :/
will be sorting a deposit out tomorrow and ill post a wee pic up then :D

daz1968 13 January 2011 11:34 PM

Be easier and cheaper to buy a spare set of wheels as the later wheels are cheap used as they don't fit earlier cars. I just picked a very good set up for £80 from off here

17" STi goldies?

acstua 14 January 2011 08:45 AM

another question :D
been reading about vpower etc on here and millers oils octane boosters

now generally i know where 3 shell stations are around town so shouldnt be an issue

but everynow and again i go on long trips (5hours+ etc) and not entirely sure where shell would be in that area :/
If i was stuck for fuel would normal 95ron be ok for a few litres to get outta trouble?
was thinkin of sticking a multishot octane booster thing (ECOMAX millers one?) in the boot just incase , then using some of that in the tank of 95ron to make sure alls good?

tbh ive not looked at fuel in petrol stations properly for ages, so not sure who has what. apart from shell and vpower

andythejock01wrx 14 January 2011 12:27 PM

Nitrous Formula (NF) is a good octaine booster. Shell and Tescos both do 99 Ron fuels, super normally being 97 ron, although of course it isn't essential.

Soemone else will advise whether 2006 STi's need 97 ron, although not from what I recall.

acstua 14 January 2011 06:48 PM

damn it...

Expect alot more from me, i've just dropped a deposit on the scoob :D
just gotta sort the loan out tomorrow and hopefully be driving it by end of next week :D
a wee pic

acstua 14 January 2011 08:25 PM

yup Jan 2006, so a few months before the tax hike!
scary lookin at tax prices for 2010 cars :/

he reckoned he'd had a few calls, but id got in within hours of him stickin the advert up heh
he could of course be bullshting, but id already given a deposit by that point heh

That's v nice too! :D

Certainly wouldn't need modded! Like a checklist of all you might want to do to a Scoob if you had the cash!

Was it 2006 that the Type 25s first came out? What would they sell for?

daz1968 14 January 2011 10:40 PM

The option I went for, jdm my05 absolutely love it

daz1968 14 January 2011 10:56 PM

plg - private light goods £205 per year, but the one you have bought looks great, hope you enjoy ownership, Black always looks good, just takes a bit more effort to keep clean.

acstua 14 January 2011 10:59 PM

Yup. Had a sea (malachite) green 2.2 Prelude VTEC as my last car and was seriously looking at CTRs (as long as they were either black or met grey!).

Of course I bought a 2001 Bug WRX, then spent a fortune modding it (darn, shoulda got an STi! :lol1:).

Nice one fella. Welcome to the club (that I'm not currently a member of) :D

Enjoy the car and keep her clean!!

daz1968 16 January 2011 01:37 AM

Best of luck with it just try to resist the temptation to keep modding as it can get addictive. Bet this weekend will be one to remember
